Guestbook comments from the owner

Stayed for the week with family here & loved every moment of it!! The scenery is fantastic, the deck & views were amazing. The fishing was great & Vermont is now high on the list for return trips!! Fire & Ice in Middlebury is a great a great meal. Had a wonderful tour on carillon cruises. The house is roomy enough for us all to have some space but able for all of us to have time together as well. The fire pit by the lake was very nice! We enjoyed our time here and would love to return.

Our family had a wonderful time at this home! The sun sets were fantastic, the men loved the bass fishing, kids had a blast playing in the water and us girls loved the deck! Thank you for opening your home to us! Our vacation was great!

A Nice Vacation Spot overlooking Lake Champlain

  • 2 of 5

My family and I stayed here for a week. Cottage was not very clean when we arrived, dishwasher had dirty dishes in it from previous guest and several of the cooking pans were unusable (dirty). We needed to clean the cottage even though we had paid for a cleaning fee. Screens had a lot of holes in them so we had a lot of bugs, spiders, etc. to deal with inside the cottage. Septic needed to be pumped during our stay, since the shower and toilet in the lower bathroom backed up. Owner seemed to be uninterested in our issues.

Lovely views of the Lake - but we wouldn't stay there again.

Owner's Response: We are very sorry for the inconveniences during your stay!! You are right the cleaning person should NOT have left dirty dishes in the dishwasher and or crumbs / food in the furniture. We are also sorry for the septic needing to be pumped! We are glad that you did enjoy the views! Again we are sorry for the inconveniences!!

An almost perfect vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5

Pros: Incredible view! Great deck. Nice appointed, spacious bedrooms. Two separate "family rooms." Three complete bathrooms. Incredible fishing. Nice, interesting neighbors. Great surroundings -- very "Vermont-y." Lots of stuff to do.

Cons: Outdated kitchen. Quite a distance away from stores for staples (Bridge to NY demolished since we stayed. This would hurt accessibility to certain stores and entertainment). Many stairs down to the water (although inevitable), but good for daily exercise.

Overall, had a great vacation and would definitely stay here again.
