About The Owner

We have lived in Washington for over ten years and love this cosmopolitan city where people get up every morning and get to work on changing the world. The most powerful people in DC can alter the course of history and try to make the world a better place. It's a city where philosophical debate and advocacy of issues beyond one's own family or pocketbook rule the day; a city where what's going on in one's head is far more important than what one is wearing; a city where people come from all over the world to experience democracy and learn the principles of our free society.

We get visitors from all over the country and the world. Some come for one time visit with their family, others keep coming back number of times a year as we host many repeat guests related to the federal government, foreign embassies and the US State Department. We take great pride in having our unit very clean (our mom cleans it, so you know it’s spotless), conveniently located within walking distance to all shopping, restaurants and Metro.

We want you to enjoy your visit whether it is once in a lifetime trip with your family or monthly visit for work. We are looking forward to hosting you in DC and if there is something we can help with, let us know.

Why The Owner chose District of Columbia (Washington DC)

Situated in the heart of the city is the tony neighborhood of DuPont Circle. Located in a section of Washington called 'Old City', DuPont Circle is a traffic circle, neighborhood, and historic district. A number of historic homes can be found throughout the area, including the post-presidential residence of Woodrow Wilson. DuPont Circle is a known destination for fine dining and entertainment.

This cosmopolitan neighborhood includes an eclectic collection of shops and trendy restaurants that draw visitors young and old. Originally populated by Washington's old money and nouveau riche, DuPont Circle is now home to artists, intellectuals, and young professionals. Turn-of-the-century mansions and brownstones—once home to some the city's most prominent families—now house some of the nation's finest art museums, hippest restaurants, quirky shops, and foreign embassies. It is also home to the Phillips Collection, one of the city's foremost art museums featuring paintings by Renoir, Degas, Cezanne, Picasso, and others.

What makes this condo unique

The proximity to the National Mall, White House and all of downtown is just unmatched in this apartment. On the weekend, DuPont Circle has one of the largest organic farmers' markets in the city. This neighborhood is accessible by foot or cab. WalkScore rates our unit and the surrounding neighborhood a walkability rating of 98 out of 100 - so as perfect as one can get. There are two Metro Stations nearby our condo - Dupont Circle which is pretty close as well as U Street. Both within walking distance about 10 minutes.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Lovely apartment - very appealing atmosphere. Great location. Incredibly comfortable beds. Only downfalls: internet was extremely unreliable (only worked about 10% of the time), washer and dryer were advertised but were not there for our entire week's stay (a real disappointment - owner said they stopped working last week and he was in process of having them replaced) and no outdoor grill (as was advertised).

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and our 2 adult children spent 6 nights here during our first visit to Washington. The home is well located, an easy walk to local amenities including dozens of restaurants. It's located on a very quiet one-way street in the heart of historic DC. The home is spacious, clean, well-maintained, just as in the photos. Nicely decorated and the furniture was relatively new. Washer/dryer were great to have. There were kitchen and bath basics available, plenty of linens and towels. A little outside patio off the master bedroom downstairs with a small table and a couple of chairs (and a grill!) were great for morning coffee and late nite wind-down. We used Uber to get everywhere with rides typically $8-$12 to get to where we were going. This home is well managed -- Jarek and Kate provided door access code in advance as well as tourist info package. Strong wifi for those who rely on it. Plenty of maps and other DC info in the home. We would stay here again in a heart-beat.

Clean, modern, and very comfortable! Great location!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 5 (2 tweens and grandparent) thoroughly enjoyed our homeaway stay! The home was clean, the decor was lovely, and the location was great for sightseeing, museum tours, dining, etc. We will definitely choose to stay here again when visiting the capital city! I would like to note that having only one small tv was a bit of a challenge, but was manageable. Most of our days were spent out seeing the city.

This location and unit is a haven for just getting away from the ordinary hotel room. Great location, wonderful amenities, and charming light and airy decor. We walked over to 14th for Trader Joe's, restaurants and other retail establishments. We had a full sight-seeing and social itinerary for the weekend, so starting out and returning to this unit made the weekend breezy and easy. Thanks to the hosts for allowing us to enjoy our stay in DC renting their home.

Great apartment and fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have asked for a better location. Google maps took us on a different route to different attractions (and some were right next door) everyday. We saw a lot of Washington and its surroundings from the bus which was amazing. The metro system is great too.

I am a bed diva as I like a comfortable one and these beds passed the test hands down. The aircon and ceiling fan were something we talked about on our way home from attractions and wholefoods. It was hot and humid yet when you walked in the doors the greeting from the aircon was like a hug from your momma after a long day at school.

We would stay again and again in this place when we come back for another visit to D.C.

Great location and awesome space to stay.

Hello and thanks for your hospitality. We loved our stayed in DC. Your apartment was nicely decorated, cleaned, and centrally located. We couldn't have asked for something else. You were prompt to answer our questions/comments. One day, interestingly, we were sitting on front steps enjoying a shaded summer afternoon when a family passed by and asked us about your place. They claimed that they had stayed there before, but lost track of information and asked us how we managed to get it. We gave them link to HomeAway. Wish you best always.
