Why Jugna Shah chose Salina Grande
This house was built by a French architect and decorated by his house and we were lucky enough to purchase the house just shortly after it was built. The house is well built with spacious rooms, nice-sized bathrooms, and lots of private outdoor space.
What makes this House unique
The house is located within walking distance to Chedraui - the huge full size grocery store that opened in late 2011. Being able to walk over and stock up on supplies and fresh bread and produce daily is a real treat! And if you don't feel like cooking, you can reach several of the island's best places to eat on foot within minutes. Taxi's are plentiful on the island and you can grab one outside of our front gate within minutes. The home is very private yet close to fabulous restaurants, beaches and downtown.
Canceled bookings will not receive a refund
All worked out...
Isla Mujeres- Villa Luna del Sol
After a rough start getting in we enjoyed our stay and your villa very much. Over all I would rate it a B+
We love the location, air conditioning worked, ample room for 3 adults and one teen. Villa was clean, (thanks for the mid week service), water provided, washings machine a plus and overall a very nice place to stay on Isla Mujeres. Thank You.
A few points-
Master shower head needs to be replaced. Poorly functioning.
Master bedroom fan not working.
Pool was a bit murky by end of stay.
Ants in bathroom shower, bedroom behind kitchen
-When giving the address inform guests that the villa is next door to Villa Paharaho (check Spelling) all taxi ‘s new that location. Since there are no addresses and gps didn’t seem to work this info would have been helpful upon arrival and the first few days.
find and recommend a reliable golf cart rental shop. We found that renting a golf cart for most of our stay was extremely convenient. If we new this upon arrival we could have negotiated a better deal. We used Joaquin and their carts weren’t very good.
Again, thanks for the rental of your Villa we had a great time in Isla Mujeres!!!
Sorry for the rough start to your trip. We always request that guests provide us with their arrival info so we can coordinate check-in with our property manager Drew. Somehow this fell through the cracks from both sides. I truly apologize for that and the main reason we didn't respond to you the day before arrival was b/c we were at a family member's funeral service. But I'm glad that you called and that I got you the lock box code right away. Thank you for all of the feedback regarding the property. We always appreciate the input on ways to make it better and we'll be happy to do so. Being a tropical location, during the heat of summer, with heavy rains from time to time, it is true that you may see ants from time and time also the pool not being as clear but we do have a spraying service for the yard to help with this and also someone who cleans the pool 3 days a week but will pass these things on to our property manager to make the next group's stay even better. We always advise guests to tell the taxi's to take them to the 3 white houses between the Chedraui grocery store and Oscar's restaurant and it works great but appreciate your suggestion. We always recommend guests check in with us in advance and ask questions about the island, golf cart companies, getting to us, and anything else they may need so there are no surprises. Glad things worked out and that you enjoyed your stay overall.
Clean great location not super luxury but great overall
Your not on the water but This is a great place in great location. walk to restaurants and grocery store. lots of taxis right out front so didn’t really need golf cart pool was very clean and perfect temp. clothes washer great. Lots of hot water for showers lots of beach towels so saved luggage space Firm but not rock hard beds as some places in Mexico The fixtures and appliances and tile work are not brand new but all clean and functional.
And with a bath for each bedroom great fit for our family of eight
Check in and out seamless. Property manager perfect English. Although we had zero issues
So glad your group enjoyed their stay. And yes we too love the location and our property manager Drew. He works hard to ensure that guests have everything they need while on vacation. True we are not super luxurious but we are always open to feedback on what we can do, especially the little things, to make future stays nicer and more luxurious so please do not hesitate to email me with your suggestions.
Beautiful place and room for a big group
We visited Isla for the first time this year and it was amazing. The house was perfect for our large group with four bedrooms and bathrooms. The area outside had plenty of space for us to play games and just hang out. We had a lot of protection from any wind so the pool was warm and inviting, and a great way to cool off. Places on the east side of the island might be newer, but La Casa Luna y Sol has everything you need, and it was in a great location. We were close to the grocery store, located by many restaurants, but also tucked away a bit for privacy. It didn’t take long to get to the beach or cart around the island. I loved our visit and I can’t wait to go back!
Perfect for our group of 8
Drew was wonderful. The house was cool and comfortable when we arrived. It was very neat and clean. We had a wonderful stay.
Beautiful private home
Great place for a family vacationing together, we loved the balconies, patios and of course the clean and bright private pool. This is a lovely, jungley home that I think you will enjoy.
One note: if you are planning a trip with older travelers, this is a three-story home and the stairs between floors are quite steep. My elders never made it up to the top floor bedroom or the rooftop deck! But not to worry, there are bedrooms on the ground floor...
Beautiful Property-Relaxing Pool
We loved staying at La Casa Luna Y Sol....it was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of traffic in town and escape to the beautiful pool. Great 360 degree views from the upper deck. This was our first trip to Isla, and we fell in love with the island and the people, the food was amazing, so we didn't use the kitchen much, but it was well stocked with what we needed. We would definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to return. Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us!
Isla Mujeres is a small island, but there’s a lot to do here. The gorgeous white sand beaches on the island’s north and western sides are ideal for an afternoon of sun and relaxation. Rent a golf cart to take a tour of the island, and stop for snorkeling and lunch at Garrafon, the island’s southern tip. You can also take a boat trip with Isla’s fishermen and snorkel, fish, or visit the nearby bird sanctuary.
Playa Norte is Isla’s largest, longest and most popular beach. You can rent water toys, kayaks, snorkeling gear, chairs and umbrellas. There’s no better place to while away the afternoon at an open-air restaurant or in a shaded lounge chair. A variety of restaurants line the beach where you can enjoy fish caught moments ago, elegant Mayan-inspired cuisine, or a simple dish of beans and rice. Sunsets are particularly stunning from this point. You can even find wireless internet access at the Sunset Grill on Playa Norte.
Come and explore this gracious warm vacation home.
