About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Bunk Area, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 4-9)

This holiday home, in prestigeous Ranch Park, has been named Sandyland Gardens by Sandy's neighbors. It is a very unique property, took ten years to landscape and must be seen. There is a wild area directly behind the house, kept in it's natural state where the birds and squirrels come to feed. Rolling lawns wind though the multi-levelled gardens to ensure a very challenging game of extreme croquet. Sandylands has hosted weddings, garden parties and countless extreme croquet tournaments. A state of the art sprinker system, recently installed, has allowed the gardens to be expanded to what it is today, complete with irrigated bird baths, hanging baskets and more. Full high voltage outdoor lighting has been installed so a game or a walk through the garden can be enjoyed after dark.

This property also comes complete with a Sony Bravia HD TV, a blue ray player, a video library and a PVR. Also you will enjoy the central air conditioning, the electrostatic air filtration and the remote controlled fireplace in the winter. The security system is also state of the art, although this area is quiet, safe and secure. The system is monitored for everything including fire, heat and smoke for your added protection. The end bedroom has it's own computer for your convenience. The middle bedroom has a bunk bed, with a double down and a single up. The master with it's King Size Bed, washroom, also has a TV/DVD combo.

About Alexander (Sandy) Olynyk

I have very much enjoyed hosting wonderful families from all over the world. My previous clients have been very warm, friendly, and most remain friends to this day. Guest comments can be seen underneath my slideshow. If you would like to contact any of them, I would be glad to give you their e-mail addresses, with their permission, of course

Why Alexander (Sandy) Olynyk chose Coquitlam

Sandylands is located in the prestigeous area of Ranch Park and is safe, quiet and secure. The second largest park in the greater Vancouver area is 3 blocks up the hill called Mundy Park, with it's softly bark-mulched trails, trickling streams, lakes and an outdoor pool, Spani Pool.

What makes this house unique

Sandylands is situated at the back of the cul de sac, on the highest lot to take advantage of the panoramic view of The Golden Ears Mountains. It is surrounded by trees in a park-like setting. Extreme croquet is enjoyed by all that visit. There is a wild area behind the house, left in it's natural state, where the birds and the squirrels come to feed

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks Sandy for hosting our busy week, for helpful tourist advice and for the welcoming food and fruit.

I only wish we had time for your extreme croquet! (Next time)

The stocked kitchen and large deck were great, for our family gathering.

Thanks again, Sandy

A Quiet corner from the Hustle and Bustle of Vancouver

  • 5 of 5

Great place to stay while visiting with friends from up North. The place was clean and there were plenty of places for all to sleep. About a 45min drive from downtown but only a 5 min drive to a rail stop that takes you just about wherever you would want to go in Vancouver proper. Highly recommend!

A good base for our visit

  • 5 of 5

A comfortable and spacious house that was ideally located for our visit to Coquitlam and downtown Vancouver. The layout suited our party ideally and the property was well equipped for all our needs. We were very grateful for the welcome pack food items and Sandy was very helpful.

We had a very enjoyable trip.

Excellent house, unbelievable backyard

  • 5 of 5

Some may say that highlight of sandy land is the fabulous backyard garden. But I would say Sandy's hospitality is bar none.

We enjoyed our stay. The stay was comfortable and home like. Very convenient location with quick access to highways.

Sandylands familymoon review

  • 5 of 5

Dear Sandy, It was such a great pleasure to stay in your lovely home, for the third time! We couldn't imagine, coming to BC and not staying at Sandylands. We cannot believe the month went so quickly, but you know what they say about time and fun. It was great to get to know the neighbor also and we had some great feasts. Sandylands is a welcome home, even for baby, who sure did take a shine to you and felt just as home here, as back in the UK. Can't wait to come back......Till next time! (Honeymoon/Familymoon)

PS: We just let you win at croquet so you wouldn't feel bad

This property is great for exploring Vancouver, it's just far enough outside the city to relax and have some peace and quite but has great transport links to a variety of local sights and places of extreme wow factor beauty! We recommend rocky point for family picnics and days out, as well as Stanley park! (you can Travel for one zone on weekends!!) try the you gotta eat here web site for great places to eat round town, highly recommended is Montana grill at the local mall and steam works at waterfront vancouver! Local sushi delivery to Sandys was also awesome :)
