MAJOR AMENITIES: Prime Waterfront, Hot tub, Beach, Kayak, Foosball, Gas Fireplace. Great for kids!

200+ feet of *PRIME* waterfront includes a sand beach, gently-sloped wading area, sea kayak (seasonal), large deepwater dock, and plenty of sunshine all day until you get the most gorgeous sunsets!

This 3-bedroom house, 'Sunset Shores', sleeps up to 9, and is nestled on 3 private acres, with a large fenced grassy backyard.

Lake Anna is a top destination for boating, fishing, waterskiing, jet skiing, sailing, windsurfing, and any other sport that involves water. Our waterfront is superb. Ski right past the dock!

The 1000-square foot deck includes a sunken 5-person hot tub with lake view and a gas grill. If you prefer charcoal grilling, cook dozens of burgers at once on the brick barbeque by the lake. Walking distance to Anna Cabana Restaurant, great for meals or catering.

Inside, you'll find a cozy open floor plan with high cathedral ceilings. The great room includes a stone hearth with a 1-touch-operated gas fireplace, perfect for warming up after a dip on a cool night. Three spacious bedrooms. Master bedroom boasts a king bed, private bath with his and her's sinks, a luxury soaking tub, and a separate shower. The spacious 'kids' room has a full/twin combo bunk bed in addition to a queen bed. Third bedroom has a queen and lake-view. New mattresses on king and both queen beds in 2016.

Your gourmet kitchen includes an island and all the standard appliances, cookware, dishes, and utensils you'll want to whip up a family feast. The dining room seats 8-12, with a bay window looking out to the lake.

This place has everything!

  • 5 of 5

This has got to be one of the best lots on the lake! We loved the private beach, nice fire pit area, hot tub and large screened yard separate from the lake access. This gave us additional security to let the kids run around without worrying about them going by the water without adult supervision in arms' reach. The layout is very accommodating for families or groups, the foosball is a nice touch, and all-in-all, the openness of the floorplan allowed us to enjoy a relaxing time together without feeling crowded. We would definitely rent this house again.

Awesome waterfront! My 4 year-old learned to swim in the lake!

  • 5 of 5

This is my second time at this lakehouse and we had a fantastic time again. The waterfront is great -- it had big beach where my kids could play all day. And they could step into the shallow water with a sandy bottom. I've stayed at houses where only older kids can swim, but this was perfect for little ones. My 4 year-old spent literally hours per day in the water. He started in the sand, moved to ankle deep water, then deeper, and by the middle of the week he had learned to swim in the lake! So neat!We brought our boat which for me is a must. And had dinner at the Anna Cabana next door where they had an acoustic guitarist playing. I'd recommend that restaurant -- very mellow and classy with beautiful views.

The house itself is nothing particularly special -- no memorable architectural features other than the hot tub, if that counts. But for a mid-sized 3BR home, it had plenty of space and everything we needed (full set of cooking supplies, satellite TV, foosball table) and was nice and private.

Really nice vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time waterskiing. This house is on a really nice cove, wide and open yet not too busy so great for waterskiing right there, those not in the boat can spectate on the dock or beach. By the way, it looks like they just replaced the sand on the beach, it was very clean and deep enough for the kids to "bury" each other. A nice surprise was the sea kayak which we used almost every day. We also fished off the dock and caught several fish every day. Mostly little sunfish but also a big catfish. There is a hammock by the water though there were some 17-year cicada shells on it which I removed. By the end of the week the cicadas were pretty much gone, they must have peaked in May (we don't have them at home for a few more years). The deck was huge, and the hottub was clean and perfect. They have a sun tent up which helps because it gets really bright on the white deck. Two of the chaises were newer and two were a little worn. During the week, trash pickup came twice, a hottub guy came once to test the water (reassuring!), and the lawn was mowed once. The grill ran out of gas but there was another can so no biggie. There is a nice restaurant next door called the Lake Anna Cabanna. Great view. The food was a bit overpriced for what it was, but the service was with a smile and the drinks were good. Ask for the beer with the orange slice in it. And to be at a lakehouse and have a restaurant next door made it more like being at a resort. We went over often. There was a nice hedge row of pine trees so we still had lots of privacy. In the house, we had a n issue with the TV and they sent out the Dish company to fix it. I think the trees had gotten too tall, so they moved the satellite dish and then it worked. Internet was fast. The house was nicely decorated and very clean. The beds were decent but the master bedroom only had a queen, we wish it had been a king because we have a king at home. We had some really nice evenings by the water. They have a nice campfire area and firewood was provided, not sure if from the previous renter, some of it was already half burned. The only problem was it didn't get dark until 9pm so we had to keep the kids up late to do smores (they have a picnic table for that), but that's June I guess. We did a day trip to Kings Dominion (only 45 minutes) and also visited the Lake Anna winery (nice owner). We will definitely come back to Lake Anna and stay at Sunset Shores again. It exceeded our expectations and they kids had a blast

Great Location

  • 3 of 5

Great Location is about all that was great. I find a lot of descriptions on VRBO are not as described. The house was OK. In the description it says comfortable mattresses. Only if you are use to sleeping in a yurt. The master bedroom mattress didn't even have a box spring. I ended up sleeping in the room with my children every night. I was looking forward to sitting on the deck in the lounge chair and reading a book, but they were so covered in cobwebs I was scared to sit in them. The TV never worked properly the whole time we were there. Kitchen was good, not gourmet, but completely good for cooking and I do lots of cooking. Book library consisted of three books, but hey maybe people walked off with them. The house just didn't seem well cared for. All in all not bad, but expected more for the amount being charged
