Thank you! Yes, the vacation was beautiful and very, very relaxing! Your house is even more beautiful in person than the pictures and description, so all of my friends were very impressed with my "find." Thank you so very much!

The town of Taos is a beautifully historical old town that offers art galleries, great food, live music, and the native Taos Pueblo Indians (inhabited since 1200 A. D. ) . There is great skiing in the Southern Rocky Mountains at Taos Ski Valley, Red River, and Angel Fire. White water rafting in the Rio Grande Gorge from April thru June is a must and you can go horseback riding, mountain biking, hot air ballooning, camping, and fishing nearly year around. If you love to play golf, you will enjoy playing Taos Country Club - a desert styled course open to the public. Taos is located only an hour North from Santa Fe - a great day trip. Taos weather is spectacular with low humidity and cool nights. The house altitude is approximately 7, 000 ft. The home is 12 minutes from the Taos ski area and the town of Taos and 2 minutes from the town of Arroyo Seco. Whether by car or motorcycle, drive the Enchanted Circle for inspirational views, photos, and unique shopping experiences.

Relaxed in Taos

  • 5 of 5

The house was wonderful. Very Clean. We loved sitting on the deck in the hottub at night watching the stars! Our kids loved the movie collection that was available at the house. They also loved walking around the property. We were able to enjoy big family dinners at the house.

Nice spot outside Taos

  • 5 of 5

This home is large enough to host a large group, and is comfortable and welcoming. This is our second time renting here. It is an easy ride to the ski bowl, or into town. Well-equipped with hot tub and grill. Decorated with nice Southwestern feel. Recommended.

Beautiful property with great views!

  • 4 of 5

The property is awesome! Location is great if you're looking to be tucked away off the beaten path, but still pretty close to TSV (within reason). Owner is great. No cell service if that's a concern.

A couple issues with property management (not the owner):

1. Management did not provide detergent for the dishwasher.

2. You have to pick up and return the keys to the management office for check-in and check-out. The office is on the far south end of Taos and about 30 minutes from the actual property. If you're coming from the north, this annoyance adds an hour to your trip. A lock box on the property would easily take care of this.

Beautiful Home with Lots of Privacy!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 9 had a fantastic stay in your beautiful home. Our 3 little children loved their private room upstairs where they could play alone!! The open living and dining areas with kitchen overlooking these areas, was great as we gathered and could all be together, yet, have lots of space! We used the big dining table for the meals we prepared from the well supplied kitchen and also for the games we brought. It snowed one night, so the next morning the kids had such fun with the saucers we brought sliding down the property hillsides. The Taos Ski Valley is 9 miles from the house driving through beautiful mountains. Parking is easy with shuttles to the entrance of the ski area. The staff at the Valley was very helpful, and our 7-year old girls were able to ski from the highest ski lift along with their parents...the girls went to ski school the day prior along with the 3-year old. We all enjoyed the very warm hot tub each evening, and the stars were so bright, letting us even see the constellations! The views of the mountains from the house are beautiful ,and there is complete privacy and plenty of room to park our 3 cars. Thank you Wells family for letting us have a terrific family gathering with great memories of the Holidays in your home!

An inspiring setting for an awesome getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was a great family getaway for a variety of people. Couples, newly weds, cousins, sons and daughters 10 of us in all had great stay here. The house was roomy, cozy, homey, you name it we loved it. The only suggestion was a bigger hot tub, it was awesome sitting in the tub with snow falling on your head, we just couldn't all fit, oh well.. The setting and the view was great. Sandy was very helpful on the phone even when I got the day we were supposed to leave wrong, my bad. We will definately come back to Taos and stay here. Thanks for sharing your lovely house. Mark and family

Astrophotography & Side Trips

  • 4 of 5

We used the house for side trips, nightly astrophotography, dining out and evening conversation.

In our 8 day stay we visited: Taos Ski Valley – 3/5, Rio Grande Gorge – 3/5 & Bandelier National Monument – 4/5, Cimarron Canyon – 5/5 (Thunder, rain and sleet – very fun- really), Cumbers & Toltec Railroad – 5/5, Taos Pueblo – 3/5 & Fechin House – 3/5. Taos Cow Ice Cream was a great stop in nearby charming Arroyo Seco.

For Astrophotography my husband set up on the deck; this was terrific because there was plenty of space and it was a short walk to the leather chair in the living room where he could run the scope from his computer while conversing with the group and having a glass of wine. The Darkness was 21.4 with clear skies every night. He got two great pictures.

The internet connection was good and the wireless connection solid (we had 5 computers running).

For our birders: we finally got a good look at a group of Pinyon Jays who did a fly-by several times during the day. We also saw a Juniper Titmouse, Townsend’s Solitaire, Red Tail Hawk, Belted Kingfisher (down by the creek) and Virginia’s Warbler without even leaving the deck.
