We came to Juniper Cottage as “refugees” from the Tea Fire that damaged our home on 11/13- Unable to go home, unwilling to stay in a hotel, we were lucky enough to have a connection with SB Vacation rentals- My husband and 15 year old daughter were thrilled to move into a comfortable, clean and quiet space- In addition to dealing with the fire issues, I also was coping with frail elderly parents- Coming to this cottage was a healing experience for me. Each morning I feel transported to a happier time as I sat with my coffee and stared at the Miramar painting above the dining room table (I lived near the Miramar in the 70’s). We celebrated Thanksgiving here and our older daughter’s 19th birthday- We go back to Conejo Rd tomorrow for rebuilding, but 215 Natoma will be forever a part of our hearts- a place of solace when we so desperately needed one. Thanks forever-

We rented the home for a week as a family with two small children. The home was safe, clean & had everything you needed.
Some rentals skimp, especially on small touches like providing basic provisions, (salt & pepper etc), or cookware - here everything was bountiful so made the stay much smoother.
The property is managed by InvitedHome, they were very easy to deal with and proactive with check in & out instructions.
The rooms are all large with plenty of storage and all have either 1 or 2 fans. So although no AC, if opening the windows to allow the breeze in isn't enough, just turn the fans on as you wish. We also found keeping the curtains drawn at the back of the house kept it much cooler whilst we were out for the day.
The rooms were all quiet, so no issue watching TV, (good choice of channels, again not a skimpy cheap basic package with low cost orovider), with the little ones asleep.
We used the beach items left in the garage, but the owner also left books, games, dvds etc so lots of things to do.
The location is great - you can walk to everything in 5-10 mins. The only time we drove was to do a big shop at the supermarket, or for the zoo. You have two supermarkets 5 mins walk if you just need the basics.
Our only concern prior was a review mentioning noise. Yes the home is in a residential area, (aren't most?!?!>); but only noise we heard was on Sat/Sun night when sat outside and we could hear some neighbours laughing & chatting. So completely normal! Also the direct next door neighbours we met were lovely.
Overall a great find at a great rate in a great location. Very happy to recommend!
very pleasant property, well located, clean, and safe. As described,no complaints, would definitely stay again
We had a wonderful stay at Juniper Cottage! It was so clean and had great amenities. The layout was spacious, and rooms provided enough privacy for all family members.
The best part was it was walking distance to West Beach!
Pictures accurately portray the home - it is well appointed. The home is located close to the Stearns Wharf and The Harbor areas for convenience. The home is also very clean. Also, note that the home is surrounded by multi-family units, which for the most part didn't present too many issues - we did hear some near-by residents arguing in the middle of the night a couple of times.
There are some bathroom/water issues - only a trickle from the sink in the master bath and if you want to take a bath in the hall bathroom, better start running the water about 30 minutes in advance - it takes that long to fill the tub half-way.
The artwork in the home is very "beachy" - wish I could have found some like it while shopping in Santa Barbara. Some of the furnishings could use a little refresh, especially the chair covers in the dining area. One tip: lose the fake flowers - they take away from the overall look of the home. The gardner really spruced up the courtyard with lots of lovely plants - the day before we left - it would have been nice to enjoy those all week.
Overall, if I were to return to Santa Barbara, I would consider renting Juniper Cottage again.
