relaxing and quiet
Great place right on the lake with a pool in the backyard. An osprey family was nearby providing entertainment. We had a lovely time and the house was jist right. Heather was responsive with questions. I would stay here again.
The Entire Family Still Talks About The Great Time They Had
Three generations, including a 3 year-old grandson, three 30-somethings and us grandparents all had an absolutely wonderful time at this vacation spot. It truly is a charming home with plenty of space inside and out, right on the lake. The views are spectacular, and the house has everything you need. From the moment we arrived, everyone just relaxed and unwound. We spent most of our time just hanging out, lounging by the pool and playing games outside, but we also took some day trips to taste wines at local vineyards and to shop in Burlington. The stars at night are breathtaking.
A perfect spot for our family vacation this year!
We maxed out the occupancy of this house with our adult children last week for this year's family vacation. In years past we have stayed in the Adirondacks of New York, Peaks Island in Maine, and Frisco, Colorado. This place was my favorite by far. The kitchen was spacious and well appointed and the bedrooms/bathrooms sufficient. While I was originally disappointed at such a small table in the dining area, there was a larger one in the garage that we swapped out so we could all fit around it to share our meals. By far the best feature is the outdoor space though. We brought our kayaks and were able to keep them down at the water all week, using them every day. The large green space was perfect for lawn games, both those provided by the hosts and those we brought. In addition, the tree line near the water was perfect for our hammocks. We brought three and wished we had more! Much to my surprise, we even enjoyed the pool. (I think the neighbors were a bit perplexed by the shenanigans of a bunch of 20 somethings though. Ha!)
The only downside to this property is the smell from the nearby dairy farms. There were a few times we closed up the windows and one time in particular it ended up driving us inside instead of enjoying the deck. It really depended on how the wind was blowing and, while it wouldn't change my high opinion of this property for a vacation spot, I do feel it is worth mentioning. If you have a sensitive nose it might be a problem but, since some of us currently reside in Iowa, it wasn't anything we let ruin our vacation.
Beautiful home and property.
Beautiful locacation for our daughters wedding pictures!
Beautiful location, comfortable home, didn't want to leave!
My husband, our 2 boys (ages 9 and 13) and our 14 year old dog (lab) just got home from staying here for a week. We had a wonderful time! There was plenty of space for us to spread out and still spend time together as a family. The kitchen was adequately stocked, the furniture was comfortable, and it was nice to have access to laundry machines. Although the bed in the master bedroom was a little too soft for my taste, I fell in love with its comfy sitting area, the private balcony and en suite bathroom. I could get used to waking up to the view of the lake and mountains every day! Heather was very prompt in returning my call when I had a question about the internet, and her husband was very responsive to getting the pool vacuumed so we could use it the next day. It was the perfect location for our day trips (Fort Ticonderoga and Ausable Chasm in NY, and Burlington and the Ben and Jerry's Factory in Waterbury). We also took a couple of days to just relax at the house- it was perfect to just play in the pool, go fishing behind the house (hubby caught the biggest fish of his life!) read, or just take a nap. Our nightly games of ping pong were also a big hit! We have lasting memories of our stay that we will look back upon fondly. My only critique is the cobwebs in the windows and the hornets nests outside, but as it is a rental property I would expect it to be hard to keep those in check, and they really didn't bother us. Although we try to go to different places every year for our family vacations, we would definitely come back here again. Thank you for sharing your home!
Family Get together
We greatly enjoyed our stay. We had six adults and two kids in our party and everyone had plenty of room. There was only a couple washcloths but not a big deal, Walmart wasn't far away to pick up a few more. The location was perfect. We highly recommend this house.
Our home is located 20 minutes from Middlebury College and 45- 60 minutes from UVM and other Burlington colleges.
