A 3 Bed, 3 Bath House of Character with modern amenities in a superb location
About Linda Jones
We have been together over 20 years now and are lucky enough to have a daughter Lucy. We have always enjoyed travelling, and we realised that as parents, the best quality self catering accommodation was for us better than a stay in a hotel. Over the years we have found the best and worst experiences of staying in owners properties and we have drawn on all this history to ensure everyone who stays with us has the best holiday possible.
Linda Jones purchased this Villa in 2015
Why Linda Jones chose Xagħra
We love Gozo with it's laid back feel and charm, and of course its wonderful Mediterranean climate. In particular we chose Ta Marlin because of it's fabulous location just a short walk from Xaghra village centre with its lovely restaurants. Over the past 10 years we have stayed in most of the Island's villages and Xaghra was always our favourite, we were delighted when we recently had the opportunity to purchase the right property in such a great location. There are many attractions very close to Ta Marlin, which are all walkable, and include Ggantija Temples, Ta Kola Windmill, Pomzkizillious Museum and Xerri's Grotto as well as a superb beach at Ramla Bay.
What makes this Villa unique
Ta Marlin is a beautifully restored House of Character which retains all of it's original features. We love the original tiled floors, the majestic staircase, the Maltese Balcony, the arches and the beams. The south facing pool is just perfect on a hot day, and we end a perfect summers evening with a chilled glass of wine on the terrace.

Would highly recommend - total relaxation in a lovely property
Fantastic swimming pool, wow factor when first arrived- beautiful authentic features. Very thoughtfully looked after before and during stay. Would highly recommend.
This villa is brilliant! A perfect blend of rustic features and modern amenities. We loved having our own private pool, which we used day and night! We were close to lots of interesting stuff like museums and beaches, enough to interest our group with ages ranging from 10 to 63 years! Slight confusion with listing of bedrooms, we thought the second bedroom had 2 double beds. Lots of restaurants within walking distance so plenty of choice without having to cook. Also barbeque easy to use and butchers nearby. We didn't hire a car so we used the buses, which are efficient and regular and economical (we bought a weekly bus pass for €21) but they are very busy so allow plenty of time for your journey. If needed, most cafe's will call a taxi for you (€15 to Mgarr harbour). We can highly recommend Hondaq I'l Rummien beach, just as nice as the Blue Lagoon on Comino but less people, though hard to get to by bus.
Two weeks in Gozo. Xaghra
We have just had a fantastic two weeks at this property in Xaghra. We found it very much to our liking as did our three hard to please teenagers. The photos do give a good representation of the property although maybe a floor plan would help to know the layout if that’s important to you. We decided not to drive and only use public transport other than transfers to and from the airport, this worked really well although using the bus app took a bit of study to understand how to get the best from it. Bus stops a few yards from the front door to go in either direction and a weekly ticket at 21 euros which allows you to get any bus anywhere anytime and includes Malta and Gozo. Local amenities are great with a small supermarket a 5 minute walk and a big supermarket a short bus ride away (8 minutes). We found the local beaches amazing for snorkelling, plenty of places to eat out and the local town square a delight most evenings for a meal or a drink. We will definitely be returning- Thank you for a fantastic holiday.
Stunning Gozo property
Fantastic stay at Ta Marlin. We have thoroughly enjoyed our week in Gozo. The house is beautiful, spacious and very clean. Linda was so great at communicating with us and Jeanette and Laurence were so kind and helpful during our stay. Xaghra itself is lovely, the bars and restaurants in the square are all good - we particularly loved Latinis and Bar 73 did great G&Ts! The buses are regular and cheap to get around - we didn’t need a car at all. Ramla beach is spectacular with crystal clear waters and beautiful sand. It’s a 20 min walk downhill but a very steep walk back! There are regular buses to the beach and often taxis waiting to take people back up the hill! We loved Victoria and recommend a visit to the Citadel which is stunning as the temples which are in Xaghra and fascinating to walk round. We feel well rested and very well looked after! Thanks again
Did the job nicely for a weekend away
An excellent base from which to explore Gozo; centrally situated in the island, within a few minutes' walk of the local square where there is a range of excellent restaurants, and just a short stroll from a well-stocked supermarket. We happened to be in Gozo on a particularly windy weekend, but the pool area, with its high walls, provided some protection from the breeze ... in better weather it would be a real sun trap. The hosts provide some videos and CDs (we couldn't get the CD player to work, but could play them through the DVD player), and the villa is otherwise very well-equipped. Coming to Gozo? Need somewhere to stay? Then let us recommend this place ... unless, maybe, you have very young children or elderly dependants as the front door opens straight onto the road along which cars, vans and buses hurtle at a (sometimes) alarming speed.
Ggantja Temples are a must see as they are the oldest man made structures in the World, older than the Pyramids. Ta Kola Windmill is a restored windmill now a museum. Xaghra church wonderful baroque village church. Xaghra village square has excellent restaurants, bars and shops.
