About Christine

My partner and I took a three month Andalusian break from our busy city lives in Paris and London... we fell in love with this region, a perfect cross-roads for travelers: Andalusia with its strong culture, breathtaking and ever changing landscapes ... but also on the doorstep to Africa !

We extended our stay … sixteen beautiful years have passed ! We are now living in the Albayzin quarter of Granada always searching more special places to share with our visitors !

Christine purchased this house in 2001

Why Christine chose Granada

We love variety and contrasts and Granada is the land of just that, full of history and stories, absolutely fascinating for any art, culture and history lover!

The house is located in the Albayzin (the ancient Moorish quarter) and we've always enjoyed its labyrinth of narrow, cobbled alleyways, offering unique glimpses of the Alhambra Palace between jasmin and bouganvillier bushes.

In the Albayzin you feel like you're in an old andalusian village, a short walk and you are in the countryside with the mountains of the Sierra Nevada (very often snow-capped) looming above - however, at the same time, in 5 mins you can be in the centre of a large city!

What makes this house unique

Sitting on the balcony watching the Alhambra again and again... for sunrise, afternoon, sunset and night views of one of the most amazing palaces in the world! Then walking 2 min to the most interesting and lively tapas bars in Spain (Welcome to the world of free tapas !... each drink ordered is accompanied by a free tapa!).

The last stand of the Moorish kingdom, Granada is steeped in exotic some of its many hidden secrets on your doorstep.

From Granada, in the same day it would be possible to go skiing in the morning and lie on the beach in the afternoon!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We are a couple with a four year old son traveling with another couple with a four year old and an infant. The home was perfect for us because there is a bedroom on each of the three floors and we had plenty of space for both families. The views were spectacular and the home was very tastefully decorated and located in a delightful neighborhood. Christine met us and gave us a very helpful orientation to the area and arranged a paella cooking lesson for us with Manoli. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Granada and the highlight was cooking and enjoying our delicious paella on our balcony overlooking the alhambra.

Spain is the hottest Culinary destination in Europe at the moment, experiencing a major Gourmet Renaissance similar to France's Nouvelle Cuisine boom in the early nineties. Casa Grenadine offers his customers the chance to get 'hands on', and learn how to cook traditional Andalusian recipes.

Wonderful apartment

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at the Casa Granada for a family of six. The house is well located, central to everything.

It has everything you need from a hair dryer to adapters. A home from home.

First impression was that the house is very clean.

The views from the balconies are awesome, the night sounds of the flamencos is magical. You feel connected to the atmosphere. A relaxing place to be.

Christine helped a great deal with information of what to do and how to go about it. She made sure that we had a comfortable stay at the Casa Granada.

The taxis provided by Christine took us right up to the house from the airport.

Manuel and partner, the taxi drivers were very helpful from the word go and went out of their way to order food for us.

I have already recommended this holiday home to family and friends.

Well done Christine and keep up the good work.

From the Hussain family, Birmingham.

Beautiful Home in Amazing Location in the Heart of the Albayzin

  • 5 of 5

We've considered ourselves extremely luck to have had the pleasure to stay in the Casa Grenadine. The house is beautifully decorated and has all the amenities one could need for a short or long stay in Granada. You can't beat the views of the Alhambra from both decks or the convenient location in the heart of the Albayzin, within walking distance of many local shops, restaurants, and bars. Christine has helped our family at every turn in our travels from home and stay in her house. Simply said, you couldn't ask for a better house or host to enjoy ones stay in Granada. One of the best places we've stayed so far, highly recommend!

Great location, views, charm

  • 5 of 5

We lived here for a few months in the Spring and Summer with our two young kids, and the house and location and been perfect for us. The views are excellent for a drink while the sun sets at 9pm or for lunch before a siesta. The house is nice and bright, but also easy to darken for sleeping. My only caveat is that I'm 6'6" and some of the doorways are low for me, but that shouldn't affect most people; just something I didn't know before I rented and is easy to deal with. Otherwise, we've had a great time with this house as a home base, and it is easy to walk to a lot of different sites; even the Alhambra is a 20 minute walk. Buses are accessible up and down the hill from the house, as are grocery stores, cafes and restaurants (there is a great one only 250 meters away called Trillo you should check out). Highly recommended for the access to Granada while being out of the throngs.

Casa Grenadine for Sabbatical

  • 5 of 5

We've been living in Casa Grenadine since September 2014 while our family spends a sabbatical year in Granada. The house and it's location are fantastic! We love living in the pedestrian community that is the Albayzin with it's romantic, friendly, safe streets, wonderful market, and many gathering places. Our son goes to a great local preschool and has swiftly integrated. All the great venues in the town centre are within easy walking distance - we don't feel we could have chosen a better spot for our family. Chris has been an incredible resource both while we were planning from abroad and since we've landed. She helped register our son for school, put us immediately in the loop for great extra-curricular activities for children and adults and has answered every query promptly and graciously. The house suits us beautifully, it is tastefully decorated and comfortable, and the views of the Alhambra are second-to-none! We will be very sad to leave Casa Grenadine at the end of April and are sure to be back to visit soon. Thank you Christine!

We truly enjoyed our stay at la Casa grenadine !

  • 5 of 5

Chris was the best property owner I have had the pleasure of dealing with, she made our stay SUPER EASY and made us feel welcomed from the very get go! The house was better in person than it was in the pictures and it is conveniently located less than 10 minute walk from the centre. The beds were very comfortable and the house was very well decorated. Thanks for your hospitality, Chris and I would definitely recommend this property!!
