FISHING - Dorado, Marlin, and Yellow-Fin Tuna: The Puerto Vallarta fishing area is located on Mexico's open, central Pacific coast at about latitude 20 degrees north. Puerto Vallarta's offshore sport fishing water temperatures range from the low-70s in February-March, to the high-80s in August-September. During the summer-fall months of June-October and into November, the peak yellowfin tuna season brings tuna of all sizes, including huge fish pushing close to the 400-pound class, to Puerto Vallarta's outer waters. Closely following as water temperatures and sea conditions stabilize from about September onwards are peak seasons for dorado (also called mahi-mahi), black marlin, blue marlin, sailfish, and wahoo. Inshore fishing for jacks, snappers, and other species is always available, with a good midsummer roosterfish run during July-August, jack crevalle peaking during February-March, and the various pargo or snapper species. Excellent fishing much of the year--especially for really huge tuna and marlin. We can make reservations
BEACHES - the best in the Bay of Banderas: Unargueably, the best beaches in the Puerto Vallarta area are on the north shore - Destiladares, Manzanilla, Sayulita, Bucerias, and San Pancho (also called San Francisco). The beaches here are endless: you could easily walk along its medium-coarse beige sands from La Cruz all the way south to Nuevo Vallarta. The surf is gentle enough for swimming but also has body-surfable waves. The best beaches for surfing and boogie boarding are Destiladares and Sayulita.
La Cruz - charming fishing village: La Cruz de Huanacaxtle is home to the new 400-slip Marina Riviera Nayarit which includes world-class fishing charters - e.g. dorado (mahi mahi), huachingo (red snapper), sailfish, and marlin. 7 Golf Courses surround Casa Parota. Along with numerous fabulous restaurants, beach clubs, and sightseeing. La Cruz is located in the center of the newly-emerging North Bay area, which extends from Bucerias to Punta Mita (home of the Four Seasons Punta Mita), and beyond to Sayulita and San Francisco (also called San Pancho). 7 Golf Courses nearby - and more golf courses being added every year. Two more courses nearby coming online at the emerging Ritz Carlton located at the new Fonatur resort area between Punta de Mita and Sayulita.

Beautiful house in a perfect location loved every minute at Casa Perla
We went with a group of 12 people never once did it feel like we had too big of a group. Loved the layout of the house we spent most of our time in the pool and hot tub. The house was beautiful nice linens and great kitchen for cooking meals. We enjoyed the market down on Sunday and fresh fish from the marina. Can’t wait for my next stay at Casa Perla.
Thank you, Brittany, for taking the time to write a review.
I know that the owners Sabrina/Lars and property manager Lalo attempt to please the guests staying at the house.
We look forward to seeing you upon your return.
Excellent Accomodations and Subperb staff!
9 of us stayed here while we fished La Cruz for a week. We loved every part of this property. The sleeping quarters are spread out brilliantly for getting some privacy with master bathroom suites attached and numerous outlaying patio areas. The main kitchen/dining/entertainment room was plenty spacious for all of us to lounge around, cook and eat in. The entire property was furnished throughout with new appliances and accommodations while maintaining its authentic Mexican feeling. The bathrooms were spectacularly upgraded as well. The on call Chef and on-site property manager were both world class! Book this place, you will not regret it!
We had rain every day but the last. But that was NOT a problem. We enjoyed the pool and just vegging out all week. Loved it!
sorry about the rain, normally in late August an Sept, the rain is sporadic, mainly at night. at least water temperatures are 90 degrees, in the ocean and in the pool. glad you enjoyed your stay!
Perfect Spring Break Getaway
We have been vacationing in La Cruz for several years now, and we love the area. This was our second stay at La Perla and we loved it even more than the first time. I really like the renovations that were done to the house including the outdoor kitchen and eating area under the palapa and the expanded pool (especially the wet bar area). We took advantage of the outdoor grill to cook some of the awesome lobster and shrimp that we bought at the fish market. Sunday market is very lively, I love finding some really neat art and craft things, and do try the local hibiscus flavored wine (it is a perfect base for a lovely sangria). Lalo the manager was great and checked in with us every day, and I really like that when booking this property Amy was very responsive and provided a lot of helpful tips and hints about the area. I already look forward to another stay at Casa Perla.
thank you for taking the time to write a review.
we hope to see you again soon.
if you like to fish, this is a great time of year to head out for yellow fin tuna.
if you want to fish, i can give you the names of charter guys. their boats are just below the house.
Spring Break Vacationer
Just returned from a week stay in Casa Perla. Wow, What a gem! Would recommend this property to anyone. Spacious, comfortable, convenient doesn't begin to adequately describe the home. Beautiful views of the Pacific from several rooms. Farmers Market on Sundays at the Marina across the street is fun. Fresh fish daily at the Marina you can bring home to BBQ. Massive pool if you just want to float. There were 8 in our party and we never felt crowded. Lalo, the caretaker, is bilingual and available to address your every need. Also, take advantage of Lupita, the cook, who will prepare great authentic Mexican meals if requested. Perfect place to call "home" while you explore this part of Mexico. Can't wait to return.
glad you had a good time
mexico is fun and the people so friendly
Perfect for our Girls Weekend
La Casa Perla was everything we imagined and more! We had 11 of us staying at the house and never once felt like we were crammed. Some of the highlights included:
LALO: Literally could go on and on about how amazing he is! He dropped the van off prior to our arrival at the airport and continued to stop by and check in throughout each day. He set us up with the chef, the yoga instructor, and the massuese. He drove us any time we needed to go to the store, and even offered to go for us instead so we could enjoy the trip. He made restaurant and resort recommendations and was all around knowledgable about the area and any questions we had.
LUPITA: Again, such an amazing addition to the house. We had Lupita cook four breakfasts and three dinners and they were all amazing and so reasonably priced compared to eating out!! She would customize menus when we asked and there were always leftovers for lunch the next day!
THE POOL: The pool is definitely my favorite highlight of the house! It is beautiful and all the different levels were great. There's two wading areas, a swim up bar, and the hot tub is like something I've never seen!! The house was full of floaties and pool toys and there's even a bathroom right next to the pool that's accessible from outside so you don't have to worry about tracking water in the house. There's also paddle boards and life vests to use.
LOCATION: The house has a gorgeous view right over the marina. There's a back gate for easy access down to the marina or to the beach. The house is also a short drive to the cute down of Bucerias, where there's some great beach-front restaurants. A large grocery store, Mega (think of Walmart) was a close drive, and there were also tons of little corner stores in walking distance to the house.
THE HOUSE: The house itself is like something I've never seen before; straight out of a movie! You walk into a beautifully landscaped courtyard and there are four bedrooms and two living areas up the stairs. On the main floor of the house there is a huge gourmet kitchen, two more bedrooms, a large dining area, and the living room. I have to say though, by far my favorite area of the house was the outdoor dining area. All 11 of us were able to sit around the table together and the atmosphere was unbeatable. The house was cleaned every other day by the housekeepers and was very well maintained. You could really tell how much both the homeowners and Lalo care about the property.
Thank you for the glowing review.
