This canal home has been recently updated with a new kitchen featuring granite countertops and an island dining area. The open floor plan overlooks a heated pool, a dock and the canal that accesses into The Gulf of Mexico.
All three bedrooms have individual in suite baths. The master suite has a separate entry to the deck that overlooks the pool and the canal.The Great Room has a high definition TV with Comcast On-Demand and an entertainment system with surround sound. Wireless internet is available in the entire house (and pool area!)
The home is 200 yards from one of the widest points of beach on Fort Myers Beach. (See our virtual tour for a 360 degree tour of the beach.) If you are familiar with the Outrigger Tiki Hut Bar, the home is directly on the opposite side of Estero Boulevard. Curlew Street is between the Dinner Movie Theater and Charley's Boathouse Restaurant.

I am a retired teacher from Northeastern Ohio. My husband and I enjoy sailing and cruising on the Great Lakes in the summer and boating on the Gulf and walking on the wonderful beach in the winter.
The Owner purchased this house in 1994
We, originally, shared a family condo in Bonita Springs and drove to the beach from there. We thought 'Why drive, let's go to the best beach in the world!' We built our home as a future retirement residence. We decided to rent it when we realized that we could rent it year-round when we were not vacationing. We love it there and hope you will as well.
We enjoy walking on the beach and boating on the Gulf of Mexico. We can walk to all sorts of dining and entertainment. If we don't want to walk, there's a trolley stop right at the end of our street which runs the distance of the entire island into Fort Myers and Bonita Springs.
We really enjoyed spending a week at this house. The location is awesome. Walkable to beach across the street and plenty of shops and restaurant. Heated pool in the back- very convenient for the kids. Love the spacious kitchen and great room and 3 bathrooms! Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful property in a great location. House was perfect, spacious, clean and comfortable, everything needed was available! Pool was a godsend in the hot afternoons! Location was just right, lovely and quiet yet so close to everything, great beaches, shops and restaurants! Would definitely go back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend!
This is a lovely home with great amenities. You can walk to the beach or use the beautiful pool at the house. The screened in deck on the back is great for having coffee in the morning or enjoy the quiet of the evening. It's on the quieter end of the island but just a short drive to dining and shopping. We loved staying here! It was one of the best vacations we've had. I would definitely recommend this home and I plan to rent again.
We absolutely loved our stay here. I had 4 teenage kids with me and they had 2 more friends come visit for a couple of days. The three bathrooms made having all those kids, manageable. I wanted to be away from all the hustle and bustle of Times Square and my kids wanted to visit that hustle and bustle. The location of this house is ideal. My kids rented bikes for the week and had the freedom to visit the "action"when they wanted.
Access to the beach is perfect and having a private pool is an attractive feature. The Great Room and Kitchen are very open. We had plenty of room to make and have dinner while we watched the March Madness Games.
I did not rent a car during my stay and didn't miss it. As I previously stated, my kids rented bikes and I was content to stay put or ride the trolly where I needed to go (only 50 cents). The traffic is heavy and I was glad to not have to drive or park. I used dannyboystransportation shuttle service from and to airport.
I will definitely return for another family vacation. Thank you to owner and rental agency for helping make our stay great.
We had a great time!! The house was very clean and since we had our adult children with us and three small grandchildren it was very roomy for all of us. We really appreciated it that we all had a place to sit for meals and for relaxation in the evening. Diane was great when we had concerns. The walk to the beach was very short and it was really nice that the Outrigger would let you use their facilities. Our only complaint was the traffic into town. It was very bust to get on and off the island. The staff at the rental agency was very unfriendly when I picked up the keys. She seemed very put out that she gave us the keys a half hour early even though Diane said it was ok to get in. I would definitely recommend this property and would return again. Thank you Diane, you have a beautiful home there with a great location.
My family and I decided to take a last minute trip to the West coast and came across this listing. My conversations with the homeowner and agent went extremely well and they answered all of my questions immediately. The home was well kept and clean and fulfilled every expectation I had. It had the dock for fishing, was in walking distance to the beach and only a short drive to the boardwalk. I will definitely stay at this property again if it is available.
Fort Myers Beach is actually Estero Island, a seven mile island that is not attached to Fort Myers City. Powder white sand beaches span the Gulf of Mexico shore. There is a free public boat ramp just south of the island on Lovers Key. Restaurants and shops dot both sides of Estero Boulevard. There are 2 large supermarkets, a Publix and a Topps on the island. Just northwest of Estero Island are Sanibel and Captiva Islands. A half hour drive south takes you to Naples for elegant dining and lavish shopping. The largest mall in the US and several factory outlets are within a half hour drive.As a friend recently told me,'Why go anywhere else?
