Hello from Ralph & Karen!
We own, operate, and spoil this 2-bedroom apartment, Le Trésor de Montmartre, above the cobblestone streets of Paris’s iconic Montmartre neighborhood. After months and months spent prepping and perfecting this 19th century apartment, nothing makes us happier than the many positive energetic reviews we get from our guests.
Parisian touches inside include designer furnishings, watercolour hues, and the warm glow of chandeliers. Throw open the shuttered windows and listen to the quiet in this tucked-away part of the city—the perfect refuge after a day of “touristing.”

Set in the iconic Montmartre neighborhood of central Paris. Here cobblestone streets and rich history meet, and artists such as, Van Gogh, Picasso, Monet, Dali, and Toulouse-Lautrec practiced their art. Montmartre was the centre of free-wheeling and decadent entertainment at the turn of the 20th century. No doubt you’ve heard of the era’s popular cabarets including the Moulin Rouge, Le Chat Noir, and Lapin Agile.
Now, locals stroll with fresh groceries and duck into their favorite cafes. Yet the neighborhood retains its artistic vibe, and you can still enjoy five-star dining or take in a show at the local cabaret. And, in the midst of this historic backdrop, you’ll find our lovely vacation rental, Le Trésor de Montmartre, which features classical French architecture for a seamless Parisian experience.
Le Trésor de Montmartre is a beauty created from muted, watercolor-inspired hues, natural light, lovely cross-breezes in summertime, and the warm glow of chandeliers. Authentic crown molding, French doors, and two original, ceramic ornamental fireplaces preserve the apartment’s vintage 19th century charm, while upgrades like a sleek new kitchen, elegant luxury bathroom, and even an office space with a printer, free WiFi, free long distance phone calls remind you of our modern day’s advantages*. We even have an elevator, which makes hauling your luggage and daily groceries upstairs a breeze!
The open living area invites you to gather with your family for an unhurried conversation on plush furniture near floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Montmartre, or at the glass dining table with Phillip Starck-designed seating for four. An adjacent kitchen provides a four-burner flat top stove, a refrigerator, and a microwave/oven combination set against a sleek tile backsplash.
Through a set of shaded French doors, access the office space, which also doubles as an extra bedroom, thanks to the sofa that converts to a queen-sized bed (its comfort will be a pleasant surprise!). There is a convenient desk for your laptop, should you need to work [hope not!!] or browse the 'net.
A master bedroom, also entered through shaded French doors, calls to you at the end of the day. The queen-sized bed is fitted with supremely soft sheets and a pile of downy pillows. A large window opens to the quiet, cobblestone street and a traditional Montmartre stairway, made famous by several French films set here. When you want to block out the outside world for a bit—after a long flight, or during bright summer nights maybe—heavy curtains over the windows make all the difference.
Wait until you see the bathroom, which is located off the living room. It’s quite large by Parisian standards, luxurious, and outfitted with all the best amenities—from a rainfall showerhead, to a deep soaker tub, to a vanity with plenty of space for all of your toiletries. Sink into a long, hot bath with a glass of wine at hand and a collection of our ultra-plush towels warming in the heated towel rack.
Located on a quiet side street, Le Trésor de Montmartre is just a two-minute walk from the cafes, restaurants, grocers, wine shops, cheese shops, chocolate shops, and butchers that together create that feeling—the one that belongs to Paris alone. Begin your morning with coffee and croissants from the boulangerie down the street. Later enjoy a quiet dinner party with your friends as you sip wine and sample cheese. For more far-flung exploring, the metro or bus are just a few minutes away by foot.
Le Trésor de Montmartre is a true gem in central Paris.

A home away from home in the 18th
We recently stayed at Le Tresor de Montmartre for 8 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed both the apartment and the area. For 20 years we had stayed in the 6th arrondissement but have fallen in love with the 18th. Thank you Ralph and Karen for so beautifully outfitting Le Tresor with everything needed for a comfortable stay. You have thought of everything. We especially appreciated the WiFi and the entertainment system and the use of the telephone. The washer and dryer were very handy as were the soaps and shampoos provided. We really appreciated all your help and information, both by phone and by email. A special thanks also to Alan and Amina who were also very helpful and a charming couple. We will definitely return to Le Tresor the next time we are in Paris and will recommend it to our travelling friends.
Authentic Parisian apartment in ideal location!
My family recently stayed at the Le Tresor for our first trip to Paris. The apartment was quite lovely and included everything from extra power converters to a well equipped kitchen and a bottle of wine to welcome us! We arrived early in the morning after a very long travel day and Alan was our local host and was kind enough to meet us for an early check in so that we could rest a bit before exploring. The
pictures are very accurate and the space provided us with plenty of room for 3. Beds were comfortable for European standards. The apartment was generally quite. We did need to open windows and have fans going for sleeping in the evening., so that might be by my one suggestion.....a small air conditioning unit for warmer Parisian nights. I would highly recommend staying in Montmartre as it is wonderful to come back to after being out and about in the busier parts of Paris. You can live like a Parisian while enjoying the many wonderful cafes in the area (we found the best food in this neighborhood.....great Italian and Thai as well as French bistro). Overall a great start to our European vacation!
Hi Sabrina; glad you enjoyed your stay at our apartment. Sounds like you found so good local restaurants - we do have a wide selection of food types within a short walk. We have several favorites and look forward to visiting one tomorrow night when we are in Paris. Apartments do tend to get warm in high summer and we have found that leaving windows open on both sides gives a nice through breeze and the fans help along with the thick stone walls. That's what Parisians do. Unfortunately we cannot have window AC units due to local regulations. In fact we have stayed at hotels in Paris that didn't have AC. Thanks again for a nice review and perhaps we will see you again in Paris or Nice. R&K
Loved, loved our stay at Le Tresor de Montmartre!
We just loved this beautiful apartment, which is exactly as pictured, and had a wonderful stay in Paris. The neighborhood is really special and a nice atmosphere to come back to after a long day sight seeing in the touristy, busier areas of the city. There are many visitor friendly cafes and markets nearby and the metro is a 5 minute walk.
Ralph and Karen thought of every detail a visitor could need! Their communication before, during and after our trip was exceptional.
Le Tresor de Montmartre was a wonderful home base for our fantastic trip to Paris. We highly recommend it!
Peggy and Sue (North Carolina)
Peggy & Sue: it was a pleasure working with you and thank you for your kind words AND great overview of the apartment, area and experience. We often get asked how far to the metro and how easy to reach all the usual tourist sites - it is simple and quick. Our neighborhood has everything for a great Parisian experience.
Our goal is always to have good communication with our guests from the beginning until the trip is over and beyond. We believe in our guests knowing that a real person is there to help them and whenever possible we try to talk to our prospective guests to help answer any question and concerns. Thanks again and we hope we see you again soon in Paris or Nice. R&K
A treasure, indeed!
Dear Ralph and Karen:
I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful our trip was in Paris and your beautiful apartment added to the comfort of “home”. Everything was seamless and well thought out. Charming, easy access to the metro, close to all the necessities and wifi! LOVED everything - including the small, but truly functional kitchen! I cannot wait to return.
Sydney: thanks for your kind words. We enjoyed working with you and it sounds like you really appreciated the character of our home. Yes we are close to all the main sights and of course the Montmartre neighborhood gives you a real Parisian experience. We will be happy to have you return to either Paris of one of our Nice apartments. Best wishes. R&K
We've just returned from a 9 night stay at Le Tresor de Montmartre. We absolutely loved the location of this apartment. I think the location and the apartment are the sole reason I fell in love with Paris! The apartment is as it appears in the listing. Very well decorated, all you would hope a Parisian apartment to be. The beds in both the main room and den were comfortable, plenty of extra pillows and blankets. The bathroom was a great size with a fantastic tub. The only negative comment I could make is that the kitchen is tiny. I found it difficult to cook a meal, which was all the more reason to get out and enjoy the wonderful restaurants in the neighborhood. The owner was very helpful in offering suggestions of things to do, getting around town, markets , restaurants, etc. Montmartre was my absolute favorite arrondissement in Paris. We walked every night up to the Sacre Couer to enjoy the view and the village. Wonderful bakeries and cheese shops within a few feet of the apartment and the metro station was only a block or so away. All of the main attractions are just a few stops on the Metro. I would highly recommend this apartment if you are planning a visit to Paris.
Superior in all ways to any Hotel in Paris
With an over abundance of hotels and rental accommodations available in Paris, I finally made a decision on Le Tresor de Montmartre. I have never stayed in a vacation rental before and was apprehensive. On the recommendation of my sister who is doctor and only stays in vacation rentals while in Europe, I decided to try it. The experience was so outstanding I booked my next vacation rental for my next stop which was Florence. Paris is a walking city and Montmartre is a 20 minute walk to
anywhere you want to go. The apartment was bright, clean and spacious with big windows that opened up. Bathroom had a Hugh soaker tub and large window and was very bright. Although a representative let me in, the owner who was 5000 miles away was the biggest selling feature. Ralph was a wealth of information by text or email with minutes and provided the best customer service I have every encountered in 51 years. My mission was accomplished as I felt like a local in Paris. Thank you sincerely Ralph, you’re a diamond in the rough. I highly recommend this place.
Leslie; Thank you for a great and flattering review. I really enjoy working closely with guests to make sure they have a very enjoyable stay at our apartment, neighborhood and the city. It’s sometimes easy to forgot that for many guests this is the 1st time in Paris and even Montmartre so we make sure they have all the info they might need to experience Montmartre [and Paris] as if it were home. Glad you mentioned that Paris is a walking city and it actually is as quick or quicker to walk to many of the attractions as it is to take the metro. I do admire that you walked back fromm Versailles but will not necessarily suggest that as an alternative to the train !!! . Thanks again – hope you had a great time in Florence and come back to see us in Paris or Nice>
Montmartre: The Soul of Paris: After more than two decades of exploring Paris and its diverse arrondissements, we concluded that nowhere in Paris is more enthralling, and quintessentially Parisian, than La Butte de Montmartre. Guests at our apartment, "Le Tresor de Montmartre", agree: whimsical, beautiful Montmartre feels almost untouched by modern influence. It's as if the world stopped turning during France’s Belle Époque. In fact, some of our guests are so drawn to Montmartre’s time-capsule qualities, they end up spending their whole trip in just this one arrondissement. Picture cobblestone streets, flowering Bougainvillea vines, window shutters painted vibrant colors, and the white domes of the Sacré Coeur presiding over it all. Climb the steps to the Sacré Coeur, take a few more steps into the belly of the dome, and be presented with an unbeatable panorama of Paris: A creative, bohemian heart beats here, and has for centuries. Montmartre is where Picasso, Monet, Dali, van Gogh and other modernists created the masterpieces that changed art forever, and where the Moulin Rouge introduced its raucous cabaret in 1889. Today, artists gather at the many cafés and boulangeries that perfume the air with delicate pastries and loaves of crusty bread. At the square, Place du Tertre, artists set up their easels and paint portraiture for tourists in the open air. Meanwhile, at the base of the hill, Moulin Rouge’s dancers still Cancan dance underneath an iconic neon-lit windmill. Our apartment, Le Trésor de Montmartre, is walkable to these and many more of Montmartre’s highlights. On foot, we’re 10 minutes to Sacré Coeur, 10-15 minutes to the Moulin Rouge, and 5 minutes to the metro—an easy, cost-effective way to see all of Paris. We're also 2 minutes from the city bus. We’re located below the Place du Tertre (Montmartre’s square), and we’re reachable on foot by the staircases of the Rue des Saules, the funicular at Abbess, or the small train in Montmartre. The nearest metro is Lamarck/Caulaincourt (Line 12). This metro is only 8 stops from the Concorde station—15 minutes, no changes needed—which is the station for the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Champs Elysee, the Eiffel Tower, and the Bateaux Mouches on the Seine.
