The Waialua Honu Hale is located on a scenic sandy beach, on a quiet cul-de-sac. A five minute drive into Haleiwa lets you enjoy restaurants, shopping, and adventures; not to mention this quaint town is the surfing capitol of the world.
The home is finished with wood and slate flooring throughout, a fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops and stainless appliances.
Our Waialua home is located on the North Shore on the island of Oahu. This is the Hawaii you dream about, just 35 minutes from the Honolulu International Airport, 45 minutes from Pearl Harbor and 45 minutes to the beaches of Waikiki. The North Shore offers snorkeling, swimming, diving, fishing, windsurfing, kayaking and of course surfing. We recommend a trip to the Old Sugar Mill of Waialua and try the natural shave ice, Waimea Falls Botanical Garden, Polynesian Cultural Center, Sunset Beach or maybe a horseback ride in Pupukea.
We call this house the Honu (turtle) Hale (home) for when you walk along the beach in the early evening you often see many turtles within the coral and reefs eating their dinner.

Before I get to the house and location, the first thing to comment on is the warmth and attention to her guests enjoyment of their stay from the owner Joey Ann. I’m sure the first thing anyone does when entering Honu Hale is walk straight through and out of the back door and within a few strides onto the wonderful, quiet beach of Waialua. Sitting out on a evening watching turtles feed off the rocks really is not something most of us can do every day. The house is very comfortable and well appointed, easily spacious enough though we spent a lot of time outside. Things to do; spectacular beaches along the North Shore, drive down to see the Byodo-In temple, Pali lookout, Makapuu, Chinaman’s Hat and Kuloa ranch. Haleiwa is the closest town, an eclectic surf town filled with arts, surf gear and eateries. Recommended Unclo Bo’s Pupu and Grill, as well as Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck. Hope to be back again one day. Mahalo Joey Ann.
Our stay at the Waialua Honu Hale was simply fabulous ! The location was superb, most of the time we were the only ones on the beach ! Joey Ann was very accommodating with any questions and even took the time to check in on us when there was a weather Alert, very thoughtful of her..... I would recommend this gem to anyone wanting to stay in a peaceful community with ease of travelling to North Shore adventures.

Awesome North Shore Beach House
This immaculately kept beach house is located at the end of a quiet residential street, with very private grounds that make you feel that it’s your own piece of paradise. Steps to a beautiful quiet beach, away from the crowds where you can take long walks and see very few people.
We would recommend Joey Ann’s property for the perfect quiet and relaxing vacation, it was just the two of us but it would be the perfect place for a family.
Haleiwa is just a few minutes drive away where there are so many restaurants to choose from, Banzai Sushi Bar was our favourite.
We would absolutely stay here again.
Love the location right on the beach! Enjoyed sitting at the patio table eating breakfast and sipping tea, listening to the waves. Beautiful walks down the beach, saw turtles right in front of the house. The glassed-in living room makes you feel that you are sitting on the beach all the time. Outdoor shower/foot wash even had hot water! House had everything we needed from fully stocked kitchen to washer/dryer to beach towels/chairs. Joey and JoAnn were attentive to any questions or anything we needed. We rented bikes for the week and it was an easy and beautiful ride into Haleiwa, where we could go for coffee, shopping or Haleiwa Bowls, our favorite acai bowls! We want to go back!
We highly recommend staying at Honu Hale, a super cute house sitting (literally) just a few feet from the ocean, on a very quiet beach! Our family spent our 1st Christmas away from home in 18 years, so we were really happy with everything. The weather is much cooler & rainy in December, but we made the best of it. We even got to have a Christmas tree! There was plenty of room, beds, towels (and beach towels!) and seating for our family of 8. We enjoyed cooking meals, relaxing on the beach and snorkeling a few feet from the back door. There is quite a bit of equipment in the laundry room, that we were able to use during our stay (water shoes, snorkeling stuff, blow up toys). The little lanai is quite nice with seating, although you have to supply our own propane for the BBQ grill, we enjoyed a few meals out there. The quaint town of Haleiwa is a 5 minute drive, for anything you could possibly need for your stay. The guys even learned to surf there. Our 10 year old grandson cried the morning we had to leave, he wants to move there now! We hope you will love it too! Joey Ann is a great owner and very accommodating!
Was everything we expected, and more!
this place was everything we expected it to be. The beauty of the pictures are exactly what we got from this house. It was accessible to anything we needed, but far enough away to be out of the city chaos.
Plus, Joann is such a sweetheart and we just loved her.
I look forward to returning again.
