Start of Bike Path to Sconset View on map

There are bikepaths around the entire Island. This is an easy 6 mile ride to this quaint must see village. Lunch at the Sconset Cafe, or pack a lunch and enjoy it on the beach at Codfish Park, just down the hill from the village center. If you are tired after the ride take the NRTA bus back to Nantucket. It has a rack for your bike!

  • H

    Whaling Museum View on map

Learn the amazing story of Nantucket, from it's original settlers, through it's time as the whaling capital of the world, through it's entire history. You must go up in to the tower. The view is incredible!

  • I

    Children's Beach View on map

If you have little small children this is the perfect place to go. There is a shallow protected beach, a great playground, and there are even children"s events and classes on the stage. it is right on the harbor, so the view is great!

Take a stroll down any of the wharfs in town to visit one of the many art galleries or local shops

  • K

A very popular town beach, on Nantucket Sound(less waves than the beaches on the south side of the island). There is the Jetties Restaurant for snacks, lunch or souveniers. It has restrooms, too!

  • L

If you are a Surfer this is the beach for you. If you are a beginner and want to take a lesson try Nantucket Surfing. They teach and rent everything you need. Their van is located in the parking lot.

  • M

    Ladies Beach View on map

Ask directions to this one. It is one our favorites. Bike or drive from town. On your way home stop at Bartlett's Farm. It has amazing food and produce. They are famous for their corn (August is harvest time) and their filed tomatoes!

  • N

    Madaquesham Beach View on map

Drive out Milestone Road, turn right on Russell's Way. USE A MAP. Drive straight out to the Dune Road, make a left, take a right on the first or second road (these roads are sand, but you do not need 4 wheel drive) and go straight to the Ocean. You will see Ocean from the Dune road. This is one of our favorites. Great waves usually, as it is on the Atlantic. As with Ladies Beach you drive through spectacular Conservation Land.

  • O

56 Union Restaurant View on map

Our friends Chef Peter and Wendy Jenelle host this great restaurant. Enjoy a cocktail at the bar or dinner in the garden. They have been hosting diners on the island for over 25 years!

  • P

The Juice Bar View on map

Absolutely the best ice cream on Nantucket. Try their famous handmade waffle cone!

  • Q

    Sesachacha Pond View on map

I couldn't say it either when I first came to Nantucket. This is a great beach for toddlers and small children. Loads of other kids for them to play and swim with. No waves, since it is a pond. It's beautiful. And, Ocean is right over the dunes. Great destination. At rotary take Milestone Rd., second left is Polpis Rd., take Polpis until you see sign forking left to Quidnet. At end of road go right. Pond is at bottom of hill. Enjoy!

Owner info

Year Purchased: 2000

About the owner: My wife first came to Nantucket over 30 years ago. After our wedding here 20 years ago I also fell in love with the island. We bought our home in 2000 and our twins have spent every summer here since they were born. There are bike paths around the whole island for us to ride on, we love to hike through the Moors and at Sanford Farm, and there are 60 miles of beach to enjoy the ocean. We have made great friends in this community and hope you can come and enjoy this wonderful island! Elliot, Terese, Ruby and Harrison Z.
