Why The Owner chose Middlebury Center

We purchased this home because of the location. It is private. but close enough to town.

It is just beautiful at the cabin, in the best location!

What makes this cabin unique

When we are at the cabin, we enjoy the time together as a family. Just to go outside and walk is a great pleasure. We enjoy our coffee on the log rockers on the porch watching the hummingbirds.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a wonderful time at your cabin. The cabin is a perfect place to stay in contact with nature.

Delightful place....would have loved to stay longer

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I spent 5 days here with our 11 year old german shepherd husky mix and we loved it. The cabin's location is wonderfully peaceful and it has all the amenities you need to be away from the hustle and bustle for a while. In addition, Penny was extremely helpful and responsive when we emailed her with a question or two.

Overall a wonderful place to spend some time and our dog loved the expansive outdoor space that the property has as did we. Oh and don't even get me started on the beauty and wonder of the clear night skies.

The biggest compliment I would say is that I wish I owned this place. If I did I don't think I would leave.

Very remote! Beautiful setting. Comfortable and charming. The sky at night from out here is a sight to behold. Wish we had seen more wildlife... it's out there it just didn't show itself to us. We did see deer and hummingbirds Along with various squirrels and chipmunks. My only caution is the roads getting here and the driveway are long and unpaved. We brought our new little Hyundai which was probably not the best choice. Next time we will bring the beat up 4 wheeel drive. And there will definitely be a next time!!

Peaceful & Relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

As we live in a residential neighborhood, we were looking for a country setting that was more secluded. This property was exactly what we were looking for to get our peace and quiet! We felt so relaxed in their clean home. We went to see the Grand Canyon of PA, shopped in Wellsboro & Mansfield and took back road rides to enjoy the beautiful countryside nearby. The Moran's graciously allowed us to bring our two dogs. Our dogs enjoyed their numerous daily walks up and down the driveway and around the property just as much as we did. There's a toad that would greet us at the bottom of the walkway and a ground hog that would come out late afternoon down near the driveway. We thank the Moran's for sharing their home with us!

We had a great time

  • 5 of 5

Penny was a very good host and the cabin is very clean. Many of the things we might have needed were there for our use. The property is as advertised - off the beaten path - but not overly far away from town. Any questions I had were answered very quickly. The cabin has Wi-Fi which worked extremely well so getting away while keeping in touch as much or as little as you'd like is possible.

We loved being able to walk around the property with our dog and the weather couldn't have cooperated more. It was nice having dinner up the hill and making a fire in the pit and just looking at all the stars. Having a bbq outside was very convenient.

The bear motif in the cabin gave us hope that we would see one but, unfortunately, it wasn't to be. We did, however, see woodchuck, turkey, deer, chipmunk, hummingbirds and a snake on the property and sitting on the porch watching a robin come and go from its nest was very relaxing.

Overall, we had a very nice and restful time with the cabin as our home base. If you're looking for some peace and quiet after your day exploring the area around the Grand Canyon, this cabin certainly fits the bill and I highly recommend it.
