Most relaxing vacation ever!!
I really cannot say enough good things about this house, it was just our style. Enjoyed all the hammocks and the open air design and the quick walk to the beach. The kitchen was more than adequate and fully equipped.
We love to bird and the upper deck acted like a built in blind. We saw toucans, cara, heron, flycatchers, ant wrens, chachalacas, great curassow, red macaws, parrots, warbler, tananger, and hummingbirds. In addition, three types of monkeys come through the property and a coati.
Met some of the lovely neighbors. All very helpful and offered lots of information about things to see and enjoy. The caretaker, Adan, came several times to clean up the beautiful yard and was very nice and completely unobtrusive.
If we return to Costa Rica I will definitely try to book this house again.
PS: If you are not a nature lover and do not enjoy being outside, perhaps a resort would be a better choice for you.
Thanks so much Carlos for letting us rent your lovely home!
Thank you Robin for the wonderful review and glad your experience was all and more than you expected...hope to see you again ... Carlos
Just left two days ago and already miss the place
The house is neat an well taken care of, it has a nice kitchen that has everything you need, big pantry, two refrigerators, large table for 6, plenty of hammocks where it is easy to fall asleep in, the house is big enough to hold more than 6 people, and is surrounded by nice gardens, there are mango, tangerine and, lemon trees, beach almond trees where scarlet macaws and three kinds of monkeys come every single day.
Surf boards are everywhere.
There is a relaxing 5 minutes "tropical forest" walk to the beach called playa sombrero, where you can just sit for hours listening to the ocean breeze and the waves and not see another human around :)
You will awake to the nice whistling sound of many birds.
Near beaches are a walk away from the place, or five minutes by car.
Words just can´t describe the place and the feeling of being there
I really recommend the place to anyone, if there where 10 stars, I would give it 11, enjoy your visit.
Incredible home and location!
A fantastic home owned and cared for by a wonderful and generous couple, Carlos and Mari (and their awesome dog, Piro). Full of all the modern conveniences yet still gives you the feeling of being in the jungle. We saw tons of wildlife, from monkeys and parrots to sea turtles and baby armadillos and so much more. The trail thru the jungle opens to empty beaches for miles in either direction and with warm water and incredible views it can't be beat. We can't say enough about the house, the location or the owners. Pura Vida indeed!
After being greeted by a welcoming smile from the proprietor, it's hard not to be in awe at your surroundings. The house is magnificent, all native hard wood and custom cement forming the shower and dual sinks. After settling in, it's a walk through a private rainforest trail to a virtually private beach. I've been going to Costa Rica for almost 40 years, and the osa for over 20 and this is by FAR my favorite place to stay. Already thinking about another trip!
Thank you so much for such a nice review, hope you come to stay with us again soon!
Favourite home rental in Costa Rica!!
This home is right in the middle of paradise. The pictures really don't depict the beauty of Carlo's property. We visited Corcovado for a day tour; however, we saw more wildlife right from our house such as howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys, two types of toucans, scarlet macaws, and countless other small birds. Just a five minute drive down the road towards Matapalo there were more morpho butterflies than anywhere else we had ever seen in Costa Rica. Our teenagers loved the surf boards and we all utilized the kayaks. We saw a sea turtle while out on the kayaks and could see where they came to shore to lay their eggs at night. Carlos cooked a delicious meal on our first night arriving and his price was very reasonable. We were very thankful that Carlos was nearby to answer all our questions and offer advice on nearby activities. On Friday night, Carlos suggested a nearby farmers market. There were various artisans with beautiful jewelry, masks, homemade soaps, homemade veggie burgers, ice-cream, jams and countless other items. The weather was very hot, so you need to be prepared for that. We loved how the home was open-air without windows; it was a very cool experience for the kids. This is the place to stay in the Osa!!
Best family vacation ever! We spent 10 days in paradise; still pinning for more. Our 7 year old daughter loved climbing up to the top story ("the lookout") and watching all the wildlife in the trees. Saving every penny so we can go back as soon as we can.
Thank you Carlos for sharing your amazing home with us.
