About the property

Chalet, 5 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

This year-round, chalet style home is located in Bartlett, NH, just minutes from Storyland, Attitash Ski Mountain, and the downtown area of North Conway. Our house is situated in a quiet neighborhood that shares beach rights to a private beach on the Saco River.

This property offers (5) bedrooms/(2) bathrooms, a living room area that opens to an eat-in kitchen with counter and stools - complete with a woodstove. The living room area is located on the upper level of the home and has a television with cable and a DVD player. It also has a set of double sliding glass doors which lead out to the deck that runs the length of the house. There are several chairs for relaxing on the deck along with a gas grill.

There is also a separate playroom area on the upper level that has a door which can be closed for privacy. There is another television in this room that also has cable, a vcr/dvd player and surround sound. A stereo is located within this room. For the summer months, there is a large floor model air conditioning unit that cools the upstairs living areas.

The bedrooms are located in the lower level of this house as it is a chalet style home. One of the bedrooms offers a daybed with a trundle and this room also has a television in it with cable and a dvd player. The largest bedroom has a king size bed, two rooms have queen sized beds, and one room has a set of bunk beds which also stores the washer/dryer stand up unit.

We've found that this is an ideal spot for two families vacationing together. Located in the heart of Mt. Washington Valley, there is plenty to do to keep busy!

About The Owner

We are Sheryl and Robert Browne and live in the South Shore of Massachusetts.

The Owner purchased this chalet in 1997

Why The Owner chose Bartlett

We purchased the chalet because of our love for the Mount Washington Valley. We are avid skiers and spend a lot of time at our chalet during the winter weekends skiing at Attitash and Bear Peak. The Chalet is the perfect size for two families to share.

What makes this chalet unique

The proximity to all activities in the Mount Washington Valley for all seasons of the year

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week with my husband, 18 month old daughter, my brother, and my girlfriend and her boyfriend and 2 kids (10 and 12). We had such a blast! The house is walking distance to the private beach on the Saco, where we tubed and it was deep enough to swim a bit. It's also a short drive to many other swimming holes, and Diana's Bath, which is great for a short hike and some "water slides." Humphreys ledge is close by as well, where you can jump in.

We spent time at Story Land too, right around the corner. It's a short ride into North Conway for all the local shops. My daughter had an amazing time.

The house was clean, and there was plenty of room for all 8 of us to stretch out and relax while we were there. There were two full baths, which was great. There is AC upstairs, which worked great. It was nice to be able to cook while we were there so there wasn't the added cost of dining out. There were plenty of pots, pans, plates, bowls, etc and a dishwasher to make clean up easy. (Although we did have to go to Glen Junction at least once :) Best breakfast and right down the street!)

The owners were very helpful, answering questions and emailing us in advance of our stay to let us know about little things. They were very responsive, and pleasant to do business with. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Wonderful house, wonderful time!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I took our four children here for a week long vacation. It was perfect for us! Everything we needed was there! The upstairs space was amazing! It was great to have the kids watching their shows, or playing toys in a separate room, but still be close by. We had family come visit us and go to Santas Village, and we had more then enough room for cooking, eating, and socializing! The house was very clean and everything in order. It made it very easy to just walk in and start relaxing right away! We had a wonderful time and thank you again Rob and Sheryl for sharing your house!

Well maintained chalet with beautiful common areas

  • 4 of 5

This chalet is in a very nice, quiet, neighborhood among other chalets. There are hiking trails right in the neighborhood, which was a bonus!

When we first entered the home, we went into the common areas and saw that they were very up-to-date. There are two giant rooms on the upper floor. The back room had a large sectional, small bar table, TV, and was stocked with a ton of toys perfect for all of our children. The front room had another social area with a couch, some chairs and a TV/stero on one side and the kitchen and large table on the other side. It was very spacious, up-to-date, and well maintained. There was also a giant, beautiful porch off of the front room with a grill and outdoor table which we couldn't take advantage of because of the rainy weather.

The lower level (basement/garden level) had all five bedrooms and two bathrooms side-by-side. We had 11 people in total (6 adults, 6 children, and 1 baby). There was a bedroom for everyone. It was very cramped in the basement and rather loud - you could hear everyone's conversations, doors closing, people going up the stairs, people walking around upstairs, etc. It was also a little tricky that both bathrooms were in the basement (right next to each other) making it a difficult to be quiet for anyone using the bathroom once the kids were all in bed. However, once we utilized the fans in each room as white-noise makers, it seemed to work much better for us. I want to add that we were aware that the sleeping quarters were close quarters - Robert had informed me of this. I'm just writing this to explain our experience in case others aren't OK with it.

Overall, the place was wonderful. The common areas are perfect for large groups, Robert and Sheryl are easy to contact and very informative, and the location is was ideal for our group as it was near Story Land and didn't require the drive through North Conway (which has terrible traffic if you haven't ever been). I would definitely recommend this chalet as a great place to stay!

Family get together

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I along with my 2 daughters and their children had a wonderful stay at your house. The upstairs is very roomy and the backroom was great for the young ones to watch their kid movies so we could watch the Pats take Denver Broncos apart. Everything was there for us to have a grand 3 days. The 2 baths also worked out great. The bedrooms are on the small side but the upstairs is where we spend our time.

Thank you very much.

Great for a large group get-away!

  • 5 of 5

This summer, we spent a long weekend in this lovely home with seven adults and three children and had a blast! There was plenty of room for sleeping in the cool lower level, and the upstairs had enough space for the kids to play, and the adults to relax. The deck was a lovely spot to enjoy breakfast, and the air conditioned living rooms were great when it got too hot to sit outside. We spent several hours playing in the river down the street - a wonderful addition to the weekend. The weekend was all about Story Land for the kids, and we were happy to be staying only a few minutes away from the park.

It's clear the owners take great pride in their home. When we had a small problem with the disposal, the plumber was there that day to fix the problem. They were extremely accomodating and a pleasure to deal with.

We are hoping to make this an annual tradition, and can't wait to stay here again! Thank you!!

Great Family Vacation- room to spread out and relax.

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely weekend at your cottage! There was certainly enough room for all of us to eat, sleep and just hang out. The kids loved looking for bugs and rocks in the Saco, and we did quite a bit of hiking and shopping too. We used to stay at Attitash condos, but decided to try for more space. We never missed not having a pool. Everyone had something to do!
