2 bedrooms, sleeps 4 in pretty village 1 mile from sea and close to River Dart
I am in the RAF but love to return to Torbay when I get the opportunity. I enjoy boating, diving and other water sports and I are happiest when I am by the sea.
Amanda purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Amanda chose Galmpton
My family have lived in Galmpton for 3 generations now and whilst I do not work in the area I love to return to the village where I spent my childhood summers. We love the steam train and collecting shells on Broadsands Beach. My Grandpa used to be the bank manager of the Brixham branch of Lloyds Bank and he was bank manager to Agatha Christie.
What makes this Cottage unique
The village of Galmpton has a steam train running by, a vintage bus that takes visitors to Agatha Christie's house and gardens. The cottage has a lovely quiet secluded out side seating area and a drive for parking. the River Dart is not far from the cottage and you can get a ferry across to the lovely village of Dittisham. There are some lovely walks in the area and green lanes and footpaths. Throughout the bay there are pretty beached, the nearest is Broadsands which is about a mile and has a pay and display car park. Dogs are not allowed on this beach May to Oct but a short walk from Broadsands across the pitch and putt is Elberry Cove which dogs are allowed on all year around.

3 Night Stay at Wildflower cottage
Booked at short notice for a 3 night stay, found cottage to be very well equipped, clean and very cozy.
Lovely location in a quiet village, very close to many walks, I would suggest getting an O/S map to take full advantage and discover what's on the doorstep.
Also very close to other attractions around Torbay, Dartmouth and beyond.
Overall we had a lovely holiday and will return soon for another stay.
Lovely and well equipped
We had a lovely time whilst at this property! It had everything we needed and is extremely cosy and comfortable. It is in a great location so close to beautiful scenery and many things to do. Thank you so much we had an amazing time here! Matthew and Bethany
Relaxing retreat in South Devon
A great cottage with everything you might need. Our young children really enjoyed their bedroom and all the toys to play with. Village is well positioned for exploring the estuary or the coast in a quiet spot just outside the main bustle of Torbay. Off road parking and a secluded garden to sit in - just the job for a relaxing break!
Clean, very peaceful, lovely location, and Mandy was very helpful. *****
Lovely cottage with great amenities... would come again
Very happy family of 5
Lovely cottage, perfect for some peace and quiet and relaxation. Good location for visiting Paignton and Brixham easily.
The cottage is located in the pretty village of Galmpton, within Torbay, just a short distance from the beach, Agatha Christie's house and the River Dart. A steam train runs from Churston Station and Greenaway Holt, not far from the cottage. The beautiful beach of Broadsands and Elberry Cove are not far from the cottage. Take the ferry to Dartmouth where there are many nice restaurants and good fish and chip shops. The seaside towns of Paignton and Brixham and Torquay are located around Torbay and during the summer have many events taking place. During the summer there are a number of firework displays and the Red Arrows visit the area most summers.
