About Mrs Donna Manners
We purchased the cottage in 2010 when our daughter was studying at nearby Kent University in Canterbury. In November 2014 we commenced a total refurbishment and we are so pleased with how things have turned out. We have lived in London all our lives but have always holidayed in Kent since children so it holds a special place in our hearts.

Why Mrs Donna Manners chose Whitstable
We love Whitstable and we are sure everyone does who visits this quirky little seaside town just south of the busy City of Canterbury. The cottage is situated just off the Canterbury Road at the start of the busy High Street. there are no parking restrictions in the road so on street parking is available. There is no need to drive as Whitstable Railway Station is situated five minutes walk away with the High Speed Rail Link into London St. Pancras is just over an hour or Victoria in an hour and fifteen. Buses also run frequently to Canterbury and a new service along the coast to Margate.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage is situated within five minutes walk of all the pubs and restaurants that Whitstable has to offer. The High Street also offers several small supermarkets and a range of independant butchers, greengrocers and bakers. Along with several good fish and chip shops, an evening in the pebbled courtyard with a take away and a glass of wine is a must! There are also several antique shops, art galleries and charity shops along with a locally produced cheese shop, cupcake shop and for those of you that remember, an 'Offy'...an off licence! Also you must not forget what Whitstable is famous for, it's Oysters, so why not try during your visit at one of the Oyster Bars or sea food stalls in the Harbour. Inside the property we have furnished it to provide you with a luxurious home from home stay. There is a small quaint front sitting room in 1950's style with TV to relax in, a spacious dining/family room with TV/DVD, game compilations, local history books, sofa and dining table. The fitted kitchen has a new electric oven with gas hob and integrated dishwasher and fridge freezer with complimentary tea, coffee and sugar provided. There is a washer/dryer in the utility room and a beautiful large half tiled bathroom. upstairs the twin room sports a nautical seaside theme whilst the double room is tranquil in shades of cream overlooking the courtyard and garden. The upstairs shower room is small but adequate and complimentary toiletries are left for your use along with freshly laundered luxury towels .

Perfect Whitstable Bolthole
A beautiful fisherman’s cottage with everything you need. Enjoyed eating breakfast in the sunny courtyard. Close to the shops and harbour with lots of places to eat. A perfect bolthole for our weekend. Great communication with Donna, the owner. Hopefully we will be back soon. Thank you!
Beautiful cottage immaculately presented and lots of little extras.
Great location. Really enjoyed it! Definitely recommend although stairs very steep for someone less able.
Lovely small cottage a short walk to the beach
Lovely small cottage, good location short walk to town and beach. Everything needed for a short break.
Everything is very compact and the parking can be a bit tricky but otherwise excellent.
Iris Cottage is a lovely period property in a quiet location with beautiful decor throughout, pristine condition, and every comfort and convenience you could wish for. We stayed with our two and a half year old daughter for a long weekend and all three of us enjoyed our stay with breakfast each morning in the pretty courtyard garden following a sound night’s sleep. We could walk to the harbour in less than ten minutes and peruse the many interesting shops and cafes on the way. Donna, the owner, was very warm and helpful, responding quickly to our queries. Check-in and check-out was easy and our whole stay was stress-free, very important with a toddler. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to other small families and couples.
Excellent weekend break
We loved our stay at Iris cottage, exploring Canterbury and the North Kent coast. Well located with an easy walk to the high street. harbour and station, it met all our needs.
Perfect weekend in a beautiful cottage
We've had previous weekend breaks in Whitstable but this was our first stay at this lovely cottage. It's even better than the online photos show, from it's tasteful decor throughout, the well equipped stylish kitchen and having a bathroom on both floors (one with shower, one with a bath) is a definite bonus. The small gravel courtyard garden is wonderful too. And just a 10/15 minute easy, leisurely walk to the seafront via the high street which is full of shops, pubs and places to eat. We would thoroughly recommend staying at Iris Cottage.
Iris Cottage is situated in the heart of Whitstable's Conservation area. Within minutes you can be either shopping in the High Street with it's array of independent shops and restaurants, not forgetting what Whitstable is famous for, it's Oysters!, or playing golf at the nearby golf course or sailing or relaxing on the quirky beach.
