Disgusting bathroom

  • 1 of 5

The house appeared okay at first even though the outside was not maintained. Our opinion quickly plummeted. Rotting wood on picnic table and stairs to house. The worst part was the bathroom. The bathtub had an extreme amount of black mold growing in grout. The bottom of tub had a mat and it looked filthy. The ceiling also showed signs of leaking. When you get charged a cleaning fee, we expect to stay in a clean house! The house did not have antenna TV and no dvd's to put in player. The ad said it would have internet and it didn't. George told me it wasn't hooked up but there were places down the road we could go to for internet. George also called twice during our stay because he wanted to show the house to 2 other people during our 5 days. Very unhappy about our stay.

Owner's Response: John, I'm glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay. Most guests go on a vacation to get away from daily annoyances such as TV, Internet, etc. and enjoy nature and the surroundings. While we continue to make improvements on the property, we're glad that you could still enjoy the natural beauty of the house and the area. If you want more modern polished accommodations, I would suggest the Grand Traverse Resort.

Great little cottage!

  • 5 of 5

This little cottage is a perfect get away from the busy life. It is quaint and clean, quiet and has a well-stocked kitchen. The natural landscaping is beautiful, attractive to bees, butterflies and birds. You could walk to Interlochen and it is a short drive to Traverse City. There are stores, shops and restaurants within 5 minutes of the cabin. The Betsie River and Green Lake are good for kayaking. We went to Sleeping Bear Dunes one morning -- half hour drive. The Host is responsive and accommodating. This is the second time we have stayed here!

We will be back!!!!

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was incredibly clean and well maintained. George was very caring during our whole stay and leading up to the stay. We did run into a couple hiccups but George was quick to remedy and very professional through the process.

I would recommend this property to a friend or family, and actually plan on returning next summer at some point.

While we were there we could hear music playing from the Art place nearby when they had outdoor concerts which was nice to relax to and enjoyed many sites which are close, including Traverse City, Sand Dunes look out and the Dune hike, Skii resort which has summer activities, and the small town shops and restaurants. The cabin is a nice central location for just about everything, and everything that wasn't in Interleukin was about a 20-30 minute drive.
