LOCHSIDE APARTMENT 3 bedrooms
About Richard Willis
We discovered how beautiful the Loch Lomond and Trossachs area was when our children were small and have been returning ever since. We are fortunate to have been able to rent out our holiday cottages, lodges and apartments for over 10 years.

Peaceful and beautiful
Stayed here with friends and our dogs. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The apartment is very spacious with three good sized bedrooms. The top floor which is a kitchen/diner/lounge is lovely. Nice and light. There is a well equipped kitchen, plus washing machine and dishwasher. There is a table to sit 6 and also a seating area for 6. The accommodation was much more than we expected.
The location is lovely and isolated down a long track but well worth the stay. You just need to be prepared to get your shopping before returning to the accommodation. This wasn’t a problem for us. There’s a handy coop in the village before taking the road to the apartment(about 10 miles away) It was a great base for our holiday
Front entrance very off putting full of junk and tins of paint did not no what we where walking into sujest a shed or tidy it up not good first impression after main entrance things got better needed oxygen mask required to get to top but we'll worth it stunning top floor we'll laid out and spacious stunning views 10 out of 10 carpet a bit grubby but what do you expect when you allow dogs we really appreciate you taking dogs because we wouldn't go any where with out him thanks again hope to be back soon
Thank you for the practical feedback. We have cleared the porch area as suggested and have also renewed the stair and hall carpets.
We look forward to welcoming you back.
Stronachlachar lochside apartment
We had some reservations as we took our daughters German shepherd on his first hol. No fear though as both he and the holiday were great, it's a very quiet place but the bonuses are you can ditch the zombie media obsession and talk to each other whilst sat around a table to eat! The walks are excellent and the views stunning. We were able to walk the dog with a degree of freedom and he loved the lochs. On a practical front you need to go prepared with sufficient food and drink as the shops are a good drive away we replenished once over a week. The premises themselves we liked as they had spacious bedrooms and a room as you enter to clean the dog and store walking gear. It's lived in but still clean and tidy. Perhaps need to add some breakfast bowls and a few mugs as the cups are very small, but overall well stocked. Not sure if kids could be entertained for a week, we were four adults, but may give them the new experience of entertaining themselves! Other things to note midges are abundant and hungry, for animals and people be aware tics are also abundant so daily checks and prep measures. Overall great hol.
Thank you for you practical feed back. We have addressed the cups and bowls issue. We have also cleared the porch area and renewed the carpets.
We hope to welcome you back in the future.
A nice property on a perfect location
We (a family of 4) had a wonderful stay at the Lochside apartment. It was spacious, with beautiful views and a great location for walks. The kitchen was fully equipped. The bathroom in the master bedroom was relatively small, and the shower doors were a bit outdated and didn't close all that well. The Wifi was not completely reliable. A tip: some more information with wifi code etc would be handy in the apartment, and also info about things to do - like walking trails, tips for places to go (golf or restaurants) would be handy!
Thank you for your review and we are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for the practical feedback.
Nice location but property so-so
Poor welcome. No wifi joining instructions and no welcome pack; we don't expect much but some milk and butter would be nice considering the 12 miles of rough single track road to the nearest shop. Also the property could have been cleaner.
Very good views and surroundings which are why mostwouldwantto stay here however in need of general
When you are staying in an isolated place like this you need to take plenty of food in. The frdge froze all our fresh goods. Not good. The kitchen lacks gemeral essentals salt sugar utensils erc. Mattresses nèed replacing badly. Shower door needs.fiximg etc
The Pier Cafe is only 100 metres away and offers high quality food and drinks.
The Inversnaid Bunkhouse, 4 miles away, is an excellent place to kick your feet up and have a beer after hiking. It is also a hostel used by walkers.
Aberfoyle, 11 miles away, is the nearest town that has a Co-op supermarket, Tourist Information, Restaurants etc.
Callander is a bigger town at 22 miles away.
We find the big supermarkets (Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's) deliver to our properties on a regular basis.
Forest Hills Hotel at Kinlochard, 4 miles away, has a Restaurant and Leisure facilities on offer.
