March in Prescott
We enjoyed our stay at Hilltop Rd. and would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the Prescott area. It is very convenient to both downtown Prescott and Prescott Valley and everything in between. Easy access to highways and surrounding area. The view is amazing and the sunsets were pure delight. The enclosed and outside porches provide a perfect place to relax, read, or just enjoy the scenery. The home is modest. Nothing fancy, but adequate. The queen bed is very comfortable. The small fenced area was perfect for letting out dog outside for short periods of time. I would not recommend this home to people with children or difficulty getting around. The road up to the home is very steep with sharp curves. Getting our Toyota Sequoia into the driveway and carport wash very tricky. More details about location and access should be listed in the description. Ruth Johnson, the owner's representative was very pleasant and willing help us when we had questions. We shared with her some things needed attention.
We enjoyed sharing our home with you, and are happy that you found your way around Prescott. Thank you for being such gracious guests.
Pleasant & comfortable
This was or first experience renting this property. It was both pleasant & comfortable. Everything we used worked well. We did not grill out and we did not use the electric blankets provided on the beds. The location was fairly high on the hill and snow or ice could present difficulty if there were more than a little. We did not experience any access problems during our stay (12/1/17 through 2/28/18). The owners were very pleasant, congenial and accommodating. One very positive aspect was the privacy the unit offered. The placement of properties within the development (high on the hill) provided great privacy even though the properties are close together.
Thank you for choosing our vacation home for your stay. We are pleased that you enjoyed yourself. We are looking forward to seeing you next year.
awsome sunsets
this was an excellent property. everything was there that might be needed including extra light bulbs to AA batteries/ & a printer for my computer. each evening we could watch the sunset from the kitchen table while we ate our evening meal. as to the POTTERS-- you couldn't ask for anyone nicer to rent from. We'd go again anytime. there are a multitude of places to go see and do in the area. from Ghost towns to montazuma,s well & castle. shop till you drop if you choose. if you can't find it in Prescott it's not available. antique hounds--more than 15 in presccott alone ,as well as local towns having some of their own as well.
Thank you for choosing our home. It was our pleasure to share our home with you. Hope to see you again soon.

Filthy, Unmaintained Home with malfunctioning AC - Owner unresponsive.
Don't be fooled by the previous reviews as I was!
First Red Flag - Owners do not allow you to book through VRBO which is your protection against an unfit property. Upon arrival it is obvious you are dealing with absentee owners. The door keeper (not property manager as lease is with owner) opens door for you and the home smelled and was very hot. I asked him to turn on the AC to which he replied it is on. The home was dirty and had a horrible, unbearable odor like Mildew, mold or pesticide. The carpet was filthy and there were cob webs, dead bugs and bath tub and door tracks were filled with dead ants. I''m not talking a few here, but literally hundreds. There were layers of dust under recliners, furnace area and around washer/ dryer. The grill in back yard is not usable as the steps to get there are covered in cobwebs and spiders. On the other side to the back are overgrown bushes. The hall light is out so you can't see when going to bathroom or bedroom. Owner advertises a community pool and hot tub, but these have been closed for a year and no schedule for repair. I contacted owner immediately about AC and she said she'd send someone out (which she never did). I sent her pictures of many of the above issues to which she ignored. I had a pounding headache and my mother developed a chronic cough within a few hours of being in the home. I ended up having to take her to emergency. X rays showed she developed a chest infection. She was in and out of hospital and only coughed when in the house. I hired an environmental company to check for Black Mold. I tried to stick it out and get through the month I paid for but was forced to move my mom out after a couple weeks and I finally gave up and rented a hotel for myself the last week. Owners live in Illinois and have multiple rentals. Slumlords!
The above "unhappy tenant" ("ut") contacted us on June 14, 2017. We explained that we didn't think our home would be a good place for her and her disabled mother. She had already rented their home to someone else and needed a place to stay. We require a signed lease before tenants are allowed to move in. The lease was returned to us unsigned in our postage paid envelop. We informed the "ut" that the lease must be signed before she could not move in. On June 30, 2017, we received a scanned signature on the lease.
Our host met the "unhappy tenant" and her mother on July 1, 2017, and the mother was unable to walk up the 5 steps to our home, so our host and the "ut" carried the mother up the 5 steps to our home.
We, the owners, prefer to interview our tenants before we rent to them. We do not prohibit tenants from using VRBO service.
Our host checked the A/C at move in and determined that it was working properly. Our host explained that the smell was coming from the asphalt being applied to the streets and would be gone in a couple of days. We did not hear anything else concerning the these problems until we sent the "ut" instructions for checking out 3 weeks later.
The "unhappy tenant" called our host back the same day she checked in and asked for instructions on how to work the single-lever tub faucet and the remote controls for the TV (the instructions were printed on the control). At that time there were no comments about bugs, spiders or cleanliness of the home and our host did not see any bugs in the tub.
The gas grill is located in the fenced-in area of the yard and can be accessed from 2 different directions. There are no bushes prohibiting access.
We provide light bulbs, should a light bulb burn out while a tenant is living in our home.
The indoor pool and hot tub have been shut down since January, 2017 for repair, but the HOA has gained access to another pool in Prescott for our residents to use. We have informed our tenants of this service.
The 16 pictures that the "ut" sent us on July 3, 2017 did not show any of the problems she as referred to. We e-mailed "ut" on July 4, 2017 asking if everything was OK. We got no response.
On July 24, 2017 at 9 PM "ut" called telling us there was black mold in the house. The next morning we hired Western Technologies, Inc. to perform an inspection. They did not find any mold in the home or air samples.
We have a good reputation for having well equipped & clean homes as you can see from our reviews.
Lovely mountainside rental home.
My husband and I enjoyed our 2 month stay in this nice mountainside home in Prescott. Any concern or question was quickly and competently taken care of by the owners. Loved the candies that welcomed us on our arrival.
We were delighted to share our home with you this winter. Prescott is a wonderful, restful spot for a winter get a way. Enjoy the mountain views as well.
Nice view and well kept place.
We really enjoyed our long term (5 month) rental here. The home was clean and well stocked. Owners responsive to our every need. Even had a Prescott treat upon our arrival. There were Halloween and Christmas decorations, making it feel like home. The location is great- close to shopping and 10 minutes from everywhere. The nights were quiet, with beautiful stars and sunsets from the porch and Arizona room. The work out facility, pool, and community activities are a real plus. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a short or long term rental.
