Lovely apartment in quiet location
A comfortable, well equipped apartment which made a good impression as soon as we walked in. The views are idyllic. There is a pub selling good food a ten minute walk away. (Day glow jacket and torch recommended during the winter months) We used it as a base to visit Ham Wall to see the starling murmuration over the Somerset Levels and were not disappointed. We would also recommend a visit to the Willows and Wetlands Visitor Centre nearby.
Lovely peaceful break away
Clean and comfortable apartment with lovely views from the lounge.Had to learn to boost the hot water in the evening for each shower as has hot water tank but no biggy. One thing which would be of help would be a rechargeable or wind up torch to be available as the lane is very dark at this time of year if you want to walk to the excellent pub down the road.Everything else you need is there. We used the base to visit Glastonbury, Street, Bridgewater, Taunton, Crewkerne, Westonzoyland Pumping Station, Langport etc. Many possible places to visit but ran out of time. No village shop so make sure you get provisions on your way in at Taunton or Bridgwater. The King Alfred pub has excellent grub. Also recommend Halfway House pub near Langport, the cafe at Maunsel Lock, Cafe 7 in Crewkerne and any of the chain of Burns the Bread bakery for take out sandwiches and sausage rolls 😋
Hector's Barn, Burrowbridge, Bridgwater, Somerset
A nice warm welcome. Lovely modern comfortable accommodation with everything you need for self catering. Peaceful, with a vast green panorama of the Somerset Levels. So much history in the area ... Steam railway, old pubs, National Trust properties.. all within a short drive. Nice to meet you Ken & Catherine.
Delightful accommodation, stunning location, wonderful view, everything we wanted. Great pub with fab food nearby, loads of attractions within easy driving distance. Luckily weather was on our side which helped, only complaint was amount of traffic on local roads and appalling lack of signage on back roads which proved very frustrating.
Well equipped apartment with lovey views
Comfortable apartment with lovely views of the River Parrett, extremely well equipped with excellent kitchen facilities & laundry room, Almost too much storage space in the bedroom for holiday accommodation, but not a negative! Some great walks from the door and the balcony is a lovely feature, as is the local pub - The King Alfred which is but a short stroll away. The food there is terrific, with great service & good quality wines & beers, not to be missed. Such a shame they have changed their policy on dogs, as we will not be able to return. But if you don't have a four legged family member, give this lovely apartment a go....
Absolutely beautiful with gorgeous views!
We stayed here for 3 night in August while visiting the area. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner Catherine and settled in to a lovely property overlooking the Mump. There is a balcony which has a beautiful vista across the levels. This is a very quiet, rural retreat with a nice pub in walking distance and easy access to beaches and large towns.
