Overview

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Office, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

This Meadow Valley private mountain house is on nearly Three acres that has creek frontage year round (the creek will put you to sleep) and the Plumas National Forest. There are many trails leaving from the property into the forest.

Bring your horses, because there is over an acre fenced for them. Storing the boat or horse trailer during your stay is not a problem. There are many top-notch lakes (7 miles to Bucks Lake) for boating, fishing, beautiful golf courses (45 minutes to Graeagle - 4 world class golf courses) hunting, or any type of recreation minutes away.

The house is about 2 hours north west of Reno or 1 1/2 hours north east of Oroville, CA. Every inch of this 2,000 square foot home is very comfortable and feels very homey... The bathrooms are small as is the kitchen, but everything works nice...

This unique private estate, is tucked off the main road (Bucks Lake Hwy) in a park-like setting of beautiful trees and openness - offering visitors privacy and seclusion not found in many properties.

Clean comfortable

  • 3 of 5

Very clean and comfortable home with amenities as advertised. Some maintenance issues need attention, broken door locks, dripping shower heads. Unfortunate that owner left refrigerator half full with his food for a quest staying 5 nights. Be aware there are no groceries or restaurants close by . Communication of instruction to gain entrance to property did not occur and required last minute calls to VRBO who took a lackadaisical attitude until the threat of cancellation was raised. Lots of outdoor activities close by.

Owner's Response: Thank-You for your feedback: 1) There are no broken door locks, I had removed the battery casing as I don't want people locking the door without using the key - just safer as I've learned... 2) Dripping Shower head as been repaired - thank-you...Not sure how to explain the food in refrigerator, except there is very little food in there and it's a big refrigerator... The VRBO site has changed and all I put in for gaining entrance was "back door unlocked"????? Yes we are in the woods and it's about 8 to 10 miles to town... Thanks for staying....

We can't wait to return!

  • 5 of 5

I was planning a surprise fishing trip for my boyfriend's 40th and could not have been happier with this rental! A very clean and well loved house I can't think of a single thing we were unhappy about. As the other renters have already stated, Rene was wonderful to work with and had music playing upon our arrival. His house is in the perfect location to make a day trip at Bucks Lake or to grab a bite to eat in the sweet town of Quincy. As we were packing our things up, we were already talking about when we might be able to return and hopefully for a longer stay (we stayed 4 days and wish we could have stayed a couple more days)! If you are looking for a place to escape to, enjoy the company of a loved one, fish and hike or sit on a deck and listen to a babbling brook...this is the place for you. Thank you Rene for renting your house out to us, it was perfect!

Also the new kitchen appliances, nice upgrade... We will be back - Hopefully this fall.... Again thanks for sharing your home with us...

Wow what a great place. We stayed here last year and had a wonderful time also, This year they did some very nice remodeling, new covered porch, and new appliances in kitchen - what a great touch... These people care about this home and they make you feel right at home.... Thank-You for making our stay here so nice. We will be back...
