About Jane Caulfield-Kerney
We moved here from the South of England, our children having flown the nest, in order to enjoy the warm sunshine and the relaxed way of life. The price of wine was a help too! We enjoy having new faces around and most of our visitors end up as friends after only a couple of days.
Jane Caulfield-Kerney purchased this Cottage in 1993
Why Jane Caulfield-Kerney chose Concelho
We came here because the area is very quiet although only a few kilometres from the bustling market town of Loule. One of the main advantages of living here is that it is possible to find a new place to eat out well every day at very reasonable prices.

just perfect - für uns perfekt
Auto unbedingt erforderlich.
We would have loved to stay longer than 3 days x
Where do I start? What a marvellous time we had! From the lovely warm welcome from Jane and Graham to the sad goodbye. The bed was comfable as were all the pool area seating. We enjoyed using the BBQ and there were treats available too.
Nice hot water and fluffy towels. We had a lovely trip out to Loule that's a must! The pets were really friendly and o loved the hammock. Graham and Jane are very interesting people they are there if you need them but they give you your own space too.Best of luck for the future with your fabulous business and thanks for putting up with us Geordie folks hope to visit again Shirley and Karl xx
Lovely little getaway
We have been travelling all over Europe and the world, and we have been renting private a lot of times, but this one beat them all!! Perfect location, close to all fun things at the same time as it’s so quiet and peaceful. Very gorgeous and romantic property, nice private pool and lovely gardens. The cottage looks a bit like something out of an old romantic classic book. The host and hostess where fantastic even left us gifts in the fridge!! Only regret is that I did not bring a pen as I could not sign the guest book. HIGHLY recommended.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. I was sorry I missed your arrival, but am delighted that you had a good time, and look forward to seeing you both again some time .
A haven of calm with a warm welcome
We had a lovely stay in this cottage. It is very calm, with hammocks in the lovely shady garden, and the pool area too, for the sun when you want it. A warm welcome and just the right amount of friendly tips and advice from Jane and Graeham. The cottage is handy for days out - about a half hour from the nearest beach, and there are several sightseeing trips all within a reasonable drive. Our whole holiday was very easy - both relaxing at "home" and visiting places. Perfect!
Thank you both for your kind words. We are glad that you had a relaxing holiday and we loved having you stay with us. We hope you'll be back soon.
iyddilic country retreat
for a few quiet days ,not far off the beaten track, what better than this stone cottage with its own pool just 5 minutes from Loule, and all local amenities although you would not guess from its rural location. Superb hosts.
Thank you for your lovely review. It was such fun to have you with us and we had so much in common. We look forward to seeing you again in 2019!
Very enjoyable fortnight
The property was exactly as described, very comfortable for two with a superb pool area. The outside kitchen worked well for us, particularly given the wall-to-wall hot weather during our stay. Jane and Graeham were very attentive and hospitable; they took a lot of care to ensure we had a great holiday and we enjoyed an evening with them towards the end of our stay.
We loved the area and the local wildlife, which is a particular interest of ours. The immediate area was full of migrant and resident birds and we ventured further afield to the Ria Formosa, to Sagres and to the Alentejo, where the range of birdlife was impressive. We also visited Tavira, Faro and Albufeira, which all have something to offer.
Thanks to Graeham and Jane for such an enjoyable holiday; we'd love to return in the spring sometime in the future.
Thank you both for your kind words. It was so lovely for us to see your pleasure when spotting alour local bird and wild-life! Thank you for the list of birds you saw when you were here, and I hope that when you return we can offer a few different species. You were such fun guests!
In the nearby town of Loule you can find a famous Saturday market to which people come from miles around. You can get almost anything here There is a local Art Gallery with changing artists, and if your visit co-incides with the World renowned MedFest at the end of June you can see many national and international musicians for a very modest entrance fee.
