About Mike and Cheryl Cran
We are Mike and Cheryl Cran who own the house. We lived in Edinburgh when we were first married but left over 20 years ago because of our jobs. We love Edinburgh and fell in love with this house as soon as we saw the stunning views. We use it whenever we can between short term lets and trust you will enjoy its beautiful location in the heart of the city and all that Edinburgh has to offer as much as we do every time we visit. Our profile photo was taken in July 2015, just after we bought the house and staying in Edinburgh while supporting our daughter playing Lacrosse for Scotland in the Under 19s Lacrosse World Championships.

Why Mike and Cheryl Cran chose Edinburgh
The views from a townhouse set in the city are stunning - virtually rural - and yet you are only 6-7 bus stops or a 15 minute walk from the city centre and all that Edinburgh has to offer as a capital city.
What makes this House unique
A small south facing garden with Holyrood Park over the garden wall provides stunning views, an excellent walking / exercise area and without the normal city noise. The efficiency of a modern house providing warmth and efficient showers with copious hot water. A garage and second parking space are invaluable in a capital city centre property. All that a capital city centre offers close at hand but with the benefit of a near "rural" setting.

Amazing place for a stay in Edinburgh.
Absolutely fantastic property with space and fantastic views, we loved it here. Four bedrooms, three with en-suites and another full bath plus 2 living spaces and a great kitchen and dining room was very welcoming after staying in a London flat. Everything was of high quality and the beds were very comfy. We loved having the park, Arthur's Seat, and Salisbury Crag in our backyard and made good use of the trails while there. I could go on and on about this place as it was just fantastic with a great host who was very responsive. We stayed 10 nights and they even offered to swap out linens halfway through and when we got back to the house that day it had been cleaned as well; just amazing. Will stay again.
Thank you very much for your delightful Review.
We are pleased you were happy in our Edinburgh home and found it comfortable and well equipped. Pleased also that you liked the location of our house and made good use of the proximity to Holyrood Park, Arthur’s Seat and Salisbury Crags.
You will be very welcome if you stay with us again when you next visit Edinburgh.
Edinburgh Home Base
A modern and well maintained town house within a short walk of the attractions of Edinburgh. Our party had six adults and two young children and everyone was comfortable. Strongly recommend.
All as advertised.
Our three generation family of 7 were extremely satisfied with our stay. The four bathrooms worked out well and the view was awesome. The son and two grandsons enjoyed the hike to King Arthur's Seat. We cannot say enough about our stay and the hospitality of Cheryl and Mike. Crede K

Fabulous views, spacious inside
This is a great place...must be one of the best views in Edinburgh!
It was great to have so much space for 3 generations of family. Everything was high quality and instructions/communications were very helpful too. Thanks so much...we hope to return!
Thank you for your kind review.
We are delighted you found our house so suitable for your three generations and appreciated the view from our “rural” spot in the city. We are pleased you found instructions/communications helpful in the detailed Guest Information folder.
Do please stay with us again when next visiting Edinburgh.
We had a fantastic few nights in this lovely house. We were in Edinburgh for our sons wedding and it was only a short taxi ride to the city centre.
The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. We were so glad that it was dog friendly as that was essential for our visit. (Old dogs or short legged dogs may find the stairs challenging!)
The choccies and fizz were a nice touch and much appreciated.
Thank for your kind review.
We are delighted you found the house immaculate, well equipped and that the location suited you for your son's wedding - which we trust went smoothly.
With four dogs of our own we are happy for guests to bring their dogs as long as they have discussed this with us at the time of booking. We have two small border terriers of which one is 10 and they manage the stairs a lot better than me!!
We hope you will stay with us again when next visiting Edinburgh.
