Welcome to The Harrison Modern, we have 4 wonderful apartments to offer in a, well designed, refurbished, Mid-Century, four unit building. For your privacy each unit has a separate entrance, the address is; 1111 – 1117 E. Harrison Street. I have lived in the building for 16 years and the neighborhood for 21, I would be happy to give you a local perspective on sightseeing or dining in the neighborhood during your stay.
Capitol Hill is one of Seattle's most vibrant neighborhoods, with wonderful stately homes, parks, museums, shopping, restaurants, theaters and other attractions all within a short walk from the property.
We have a fantastic location in the heart of this historic neighborhood, within 3 minutes walk you will find a variety of shopping, restaurants, cafes, and 3 supermarkets
We are on the same street as Seattle University and a 5 minute walk from the Pike/Pine Corridor bars, cafes & nightlife. Downtown Seattle is 1 mile from the building as is the Washington State Trade & Convention Center, and the Hospitals on First Hill. The Pike Place Market and the Seattle Space Needle are also easily accessed either on foot or by the extensive bus network that passes 2 blocks from the building on the eclectic Broadway Shopping street. You will LOVE the location!!

About Ian Petry
I have owned and lived in the Harrison Modern since 1997. I have a passion for architecture and interior design, you will see this in every aspect of the building. Originally born in New Zealand, I have traveled the world and the US extensively, I believe that Seattle is one of the most beautiful cities on the planet. My background is in Tourism Marketing, I worked for the New Zealand Tourism Board in Los Angeles for 8 years before moving to Seattle in 1994. I have a love of travel and new experiences - Whenever I away I always stay at vacation apartments, as you get a real feel for the destination you are visiting.

Seattle is a vibrant city full of amazing sights from world class architecture, vibrant arts scene, to spectacular outdoor activities. Capitol Hill, is the perfect location to explore all Seattle and everything the region has to offer. If you are not traveling outside the city you won't need a car, everything is within an easy walk or a short bus ride. Within 3 short blocks of the building are a number of great restaurants, shops and cafes, 2 supermarkets and 3 wonderful city parks. Capitol Hill is a rich, diverse, neighborhood with multi million mansions and a wonderful farmer's market within blocks of each other. One thing I am sure about... You will love the location. I have done a lot of traveling and believe that Seattle and the Pacific Northwest is one of the most beautiful, livable, areas in the North America.

The building is super stylish, all the apartments are large and individually furnished in keeping with the mid-century contemporary theme. Comfort, convenience, and style are what you will find when you stay at the Harrison Modern.

Excellent apartment and location
This is a very special apartment with a lovely outdoor deck off the living room. The location could not be beat close to the supermarket, shops, and restaurants. Ian was a delight to deal with. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend one of Ian's four apartments to anyone visiting Seattle.
It’s a beautiful apartment with gorgeous views and an extremely comfortable bed. Would highly recommend. Ian answer his emails promptly And is extremely hospitable.
Great location / cute place/ nice deck
Great neighborhood/view and Owner was very responsive. Good for younger folks. Cooking pans were like camping equipment-could use a couple non-stick pans. The king bed is very soft (FYI) and we had small ants in the kitchen/dining area continuously, despite keeping place very clean. Onsite washer/dryer great. Street noise was not a problem for us.
Hi Janet, Thanks for your feedback. My apologies for the ants during your stay, we have not had them before - we have addressed the situation. I wasn't aware the cooking pans had gotten that bad I will definitely inspect them and replace them as needed. Best Ian

Nice place! Host very accommodating and responsive. Clean, neat and well equipped.Clean and a fantastic deck, although with all the rain didn’t get a chance to get out there!

Great apartment in a great neighborhood. Very clean and nicely decorated. Love the modern feel. Awesome deck outside. Great location. Close to everything, but just enough out of busy downtown that you can relax. Will definitely be back!
