Ideal for visiting Paris. Quiet and near metro
This was our first experience with a VRBO and it could not have been better!. The apartment was perfect for my husband, three teenage daughters and myself. Julia was incredibly accommodating in meeting us and offering advice on the neighborhood and sightseeing. The apartment had everything we needed for a four night visit. we loved being able to open the windows to the quiet neighborhood. especially in the morning when the Republican Guard were out exercising the horses. we loved having coffee and listening to the clopping of hooves! The neighborhood was very quiet and felt quite safe. It was such an easy walk from the metro we could come back mid-day to drop off packages and return to sightseeing.
I would recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Paris. Thank you so much Julia.
Traveling with my wife and two teenagers, we found this apartment to be very comfortable. Two bedrooms, one bath, and a kitchen were more than enough for our family of four. The neighborhood was quiet, but had lots to offer. We loved the cafes and bakeries that were within close proximity. The only drawbacks to the property were 1) the batch towels need to be replaced and 2) the wifi is somewhat slow and spotty. However, these two things were minor and we would stay there again.
My cousin and I arrived in Paris, in early May, after a fun filled week in London. Julia met us at her wonderful flat in Le Marais and explained the workings of everything (stove top, washer and dryer, wi-fi, television, etc.), spending time with us to be sure we were comfortable with all the appliances. She even got out her larger Metro map and showed us how to arrive at Versailles with the least amount of hassle! The flat was exactly what we expected. Centrally located within easy walking distance to the Bastille Metro station, a leisurely stroll to Ile St. Louis and the Notre Dame. We enjoyed having our morning cafe while watching the Republican Guards exercise their beautiful horses. Once we explored Rue St. Antoine and found all the wonderful patisseries, fromageries and charcuteries, life was indeed complete. Would I stay there again? In a heart beat. Thank you Julia!
We spent 4 nights at this wonderful apartment. Julia was very helpful in getting us settled, with suggestions of activities and advice for riding the metro. The apartment is just a five minute walk to the Bastille metro station and we used it everyday! It is also an easy, leisurely walk along the Seine from the Notre Dame area if you want to take in the sights. There are several restaurants and cafes near the Bastille metro stop. We went out daily to have a morning coffee before stopping at a patisserie for fresh baked goods to bring back to the apartment for breakfast.
The apartment easily accommodated our family of five with children aged 15, 13, 11. They each opted for sleeping a night on the couch but one of the bedrooms has a single bed and double bed which is large enough for sharing. The washer and dryer were greatly appreciated and the apartment was well stocked with kitchen items if you chose to eat in. We were asked to refrain from being loud in the kitchen area in the evenings so as not to disturb the neighbors. This was not a problem though as we were out sight seeing each day and came home ready for sleeping anyway!
A highlight was the Republican Guard barracks which are right outside the window! It was a constant thrill to see the riders coming in, the horses being shoed, and in one instance a beautiful symphony filling the air (for the horses or the guards?!).
We highly recommend this apartment and we would like to thank Julia for her hospitality.
We arrived at the apartment after spending an exhilarating ( and exhausting) week in London. Julia met us at the apartment and explained everything we needed to know. We had an amazing time in Paris and were so happy to come back to this lovely apartment after a long day of sight seeing. The beds were comfortable, and it was in a safe and quiet area. A hairdryer was provided as well as fans ( we didn't need them much...just kept the windows open). An extra bonus that had not been advertised was the clothes dryer! This really came in handy as we were running out of clothes towards the end of our week. It's a close walk to many restaurants and shops . We loved seeing the horses outside our window most mornings! Thanks so much! If we are ever in Paris again we will stay here!
