Well, take a chance make a change, make a difference, have a memorable life time experience. Come to this quaint rustic type trappers cabin, get the kids away from their TV, video games this summer/winter and back to the family (DO IT NOW)!! YOU WON’T BE SORRY.

One mile South of Polebridge in Northwest Montana, in the North Fork Valley which is nestled between the Western edge of Glacier National Park and the oldest mountain range on the continent the Whitefish Range which was formed 75 to 100 million years ago this area is truly where heaven meets earth. Okay, now I’ll get to the cabin just after I tell you about the activities, practically out the cabin door has truly endless activities something for the whole family to enjoy. The view out the front door is Glacier National Park, just minutes away with endless hiking trails pristine remote lakes (Kintla and Bowman) where hiking, swimming, sea kayaking, fishing or just kayak out to have a picnic on one of many lake side locations (please pack your trash out) please leave no trace behind. You may want to raft the North Fork as you fly fish with Glacier in its entire splendor as a back drop, or perhaps a guided raft trip down the Middle Fork of the Flathead River (very fun). As you spend time in the North Fork Valley exploring the sites drive to a couple of hidden lakes Red Meadow, Upper White Fish just to mention a couple. Explore with the family many mountain biking trails the North Fork is a Wild and Scenic designated area, there is something here for every avid explorer that’s in all of us. This wonderful cabin is located one mile South from historical Polebridge Mercantile enjoy the daily fresh baked goods, arts, crafts and antiques. Dine at the Northern Lights Saloon most often in the evenings with live local musician you’ll never want the day to end, we look forward to hearing from you.The Home Ranch Store and Tavern is just 3 miles south of the cabin. Beautiful cabin off the beaten path!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was amazing. Beautiful setting, plenty of room and everything that you need to have a great stay. You are off the grid and the scenery will help you relax and enjoy the nature around you.

We visited the town of Polebridge during our stay and enjoyed the delicious pastries and a few beers at the saloon. Highly recommended!

John the owner is very easy to work with and very friendly. We will rent this cabin again on our next trip to Glacier National Park.

Great accommodations! The Snell family went above and beyond to make us feel at home! Beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

The property was amazing! Comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed. The most peaceful place I've ever been. Views were amazing, and I've never seen more stars at night! We had a few whitetail deer around the cabin at almost all times. My son put out a trailcamera at night and got a few photographs of a couple of moose! Overall, I couldn't have been more pleased with selecting this cabin as our home base for our Glacier visit. Thank you John.

Just perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We recently returned from spending 3 amazing weeks at the Snell's Trapper cabin. Being located in the North Fork, you are guaranteed peace, beauty, incredible sights and a feeling of being at one with the natural world. The cabin has all the amenities to make your vacation comfortable and it was the perfect spot to serve as a base for exploring Glacier Park and the Flathead rivers. After backpacking and hiking over 115 miles during our stay, we especially appreciated the washer/dryer, spacious bathroom, full kitchen and comfortable bed to come "home" to! The Snell's have equipped the cabin with lots of extras including a new charcoal grill, binoculars, bear spray, spotting scope, wood stove with a shed full of wood, telephone (bring a calling card), wonderful books and games and cozy furnishings. John Snell was super responsive to all our questions prior to arrival and even called and checked in during our stay to make sure everything was going well. A very special place!

Great log cabin with all the amenities you could need for an off the grid getaway. Owner was super responsive via email and phone for pre-trip questions and preemptively provided all needed information and more. Caretaker was also very friendly. Cabin was clean and quiet. Washer/dryer were a huge help to have midway through our two weeks camping. Much better than the cookie cutter cabins plopped right next to each other that were also available in the area. Would stay again if ever back in the area.

Wonderful, Peaceful, Quite Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Snell's cabin has become our favorite vacation place. Nowhere else have we found the beauty, peace and quite that we so desire. The view into the mountains from the porch is a most welcoming site at any time of the day. The glades that precede the forest that sweeps up to the mountains are beautiful and one never knows what may be seen there. The cabin is quite roomy and well appointed for any stay. It is a most desired repose after having traveled through the many sites around Glacier and the crowds that are found there. We were delighted in the abundance of wildlife seen around the cabin. Our most favorite were the ground squirrels. Their antics and constant scurrying about were a delight to see. We were really surprised how comfortable the cabin was without air conditioning. The temps cool off quickly as the sun sets. The wolves howling in the distance in the mornings and sometimes at night were something we will never forget as we don't have them where we live. The Snell's are the perfect hosts making the stay at their cabin most enjoyable.
