Personal oasis from mid-western
Perfect get away from the winter of the mid-west. Had a family Christmas/New Year birthday celebration. Had plenty of room for the 7-9 of us that rotated through over the 2 week stay. Fabulous lanai/patio/tiki bar/hot tub area. Lots of extra gear for beach use. Best hot tub bath in the upper main bathroom. Close to local eateries, grocery , CVS, but far from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu. Close to North Shore, Shark Cove, Haleiwa, Koaloa Ranch, and several nice beach parks. Could watch the sea lion "Honey girl" just up the beach. Nice home away from home.
We had 6 family members with us, and this was the perfect place for all of us. Children ages are 10 & 11 and they loved everything about the place. No doubt if we ever return to Hawaii we will definitely stay here again. The owns were very accommodating and took great care of the home. Thanks again for making our Hawaii vacation perfect!
Great views, great times!
The home is easy to find and located within a short drive for food and many must see locations on Oahu's North Shore.
While it is about an hour from Waikiki, the quiet evenings and our own beach made it all worth it.
The home is well equipped for families as well as small groups, and boasts a good selection of beach toys.
Would have no problem renting again!
Best family trip ever!
We stayed a the house (both units) for a week. 4 adults and 2 five year olds. We had such a great relaxing time. Falling asleep listening to the waves, having our own private beach, close to stores and restaurants. This place had it all! The owners really thought of everything and event have a welcome binder with local restaurant recommendations etc. A couple days were windy so the ocean was to choppy for the kids but we turned the heater down in the hot tub and they were having a blast in there! Bought a Groupon for "Oahu Go Cards" for our activities. It was a great deal and we did tons of stuff.
Beach Escape with Priceless Ocean View
We stumbled upon this GEM after multiple issues with attempts to book other properties outside of Honolulu--they sure go fast on the island! Shawn was super accommodating, we couldn't be more grateful for his quick responses and availability to book our group of seven. The property is pristine, located in a rural-like setting, yet close to groceries, local food joints and the post office. A short drive up north gives you huge crashing waves and surf-watching. Or, you can opt to simply enjoy the calm waves lapping in from your back patio. Either way, it's a sight to behold.
The sound of the waves, the stretch of low-traffic beach, and the nearby reefs are just a handful of the many, many awesome perks this rental has to offer. We took full advantage of the on-hand beach gear and kayaked, snorkelled, and lounged. The hot tub was a nightly pleasure. Can't say enough great things about this lovely beach house. We will surely be back. Mahalo!
Great location we could jump in for a swim anytime. The property was clean and everything was as advertised. The only thing I would change where the small grills. We had a group of 7 and cooking 7 steaks we had to rotate but we made it work. I highly recommend staying here and plan to rent again next year.
Hau'ula and the surrounding area is often likened to 'old Hawaii,' still representing what Hawaii once was. Instead of large malls and chain restaurants (i.e. Waikiki), the area has family-owned gift shops, unique little restaurants, and a pace of life that many envision when planning their Hawaii trips. Highlights of the area: (1) five minute drive to the Polynesian Cultural Center, Hawaii's #1 tourist attraction (2) many great hikes (some with waterfalls) in the mountains seen in our aerial pictures (3) lush green foliage and mountainsides, drawing comparisons with Maui (4) good, local people offering a glimpse into 'true' Hawaii living: a truly authentic Hawaiian experience (5) twelve minute drive to Turtle Bay Resort, and their golf courses, restaurants, bars, massages, helicopter rides, etc. (6) minutes to good surfing spots, and only about 20 minutes to famous big-wave spots like Pipeline and Sunset Beach (7) quiet, tranquil, peaceful...the best way to describe Hau'ula!
