This condo is beautifully decorated with coastal decor. It's located directly across the street from the beach access. The upstairs bedroom and balcony has a beautiful view of the ocean. Middle Bedroom is a loft area. Grilling is permitted using only our infra-red electric grill. Charcoal and butane are not allowed.

Jacuzzi and pool are located directly behind condo's back door.

Beautiful courtyard, Spanish architecture, palm trees, lounging beach chairs surround the property like a mini-vacation resort.

Ideal for relaxing with all of the conveniences of home.

Retired from Dallas, TX to South Padre Island - our favorite beach. I manage the entire complex of the Dolphin Condominiums and own one unit - Unit #6. Keeps me busy but allows me plenty of time to enjoy my lifestyle.

Why Roberto Olivares chose South Padre Island

I used to make frequent trips to South Padre Island and I saw the Dolphin Condominiums under construction. I got the meet the developer, a National Mexican billionaire that had demolished his aging vacation home on the same site simply because his ocean view had been obstructed by the two high rise condominiums complexes across the street. However, I noticed that a few of the condos still had beautiful ocean and beach view. So, I purchased the one right in the center of that view, Unit #6! Shortly thereafter, the developer offered me the Management job that was perfect for me. The rest is all history.

This condo has the perfect view - ocean and beach front and the backdoor leads to the beautiful courtyard decorated with palm trees, native tropical plants and the pool and Jacuzzi.

Other Identical Units Say Two-Bedroom

The Dolphin Condos have a super location, right across from the beach and walking distance to a small grocery. Bus access was right out the door and by the grocery.

The stairs are dangerous in the dark and would be a nightmare with young children. The "third" bedroom is at the top of the stairs - more a loft than a bedroom; access to the other two bedrooms is through this loft, i.e. no privacy for these sleepers. The bathrooms upstairs are private to the other two bedrooms, which was awkward. The downstairs half bath had no ventilation and smelled musty.

The kitchen was well stocked with everything except adequate A/C. The washer and dryer were new, but unfortunately, the dryer broke during our stay.

The balconies were not wide enough to be of use.

Owner's Response: All stairs can be dangerous, especially for young children attempting to navigate them in the dark. Our stairs are well lighted but of course, the lights must be turned off at night to allow the occupants in the loft area to sleep comfortably. We do advertise, three bedrooms, while other with identical floor plans say, two. The main reason is that our loft area is furnished with a queen size bed, two night stands with separate lamps, a full size dresser, a television, and ceiling fan. Others that advertise, two bedrooms and loft, is because they only have a sleeper sofa in that area. There is no reason why the kitchen should have been uncomfortable. The condo has a very cold air conditioning unit that cools evenly throughout all rooms. The only explanation that we can think is that this was a large family that probably used the oven often and for long periods of time. The washer and dryer are new and the dryer stopped working while these tenants were there. The technician that repaired it explained that the fuses do blow out when the appliance is overloaded. I did compensate them enough money to dry a two day load at a nearby Laundromat since their stay was about to end within the two days. . The 1/2 bathroom downstairs is not musty. It is equipped with a powerful ceiling exhaust fan that circulates the air adequately. Patios can accommodate up to five chairs. Our tenants comment that they enjoy the beautiful ocean, coastal views and sunrise. The rear patio faces the pool and courtyard, perfect for viewing swimmers, sunsets, and it has a relaxing view of our tropical backyard landscaped with palm trees. The comment that they patios were too small to be of any use is indeed an understatement. Our condo remains very popular and at least 50 percent of our tenants book again upon departure. The location is ideal, convenient, and so close to the beach that most tenants walk from the beach to use the bathrooms, eat a snack, get cold drinks, or just to cool off. We were disappointed with this less than excellent rating especially when we observed this family having so much fun while using the pool, hot tub, and relaxing in our lounging chairs in the courtyard. Most of our tenants access our WIFI signal while lounging in the courtyard and are able to enjoy their music silently, their videos, and their e-mail.

Girl's weekend

There were six of us who met for a working retreat. The location is great and the condo was wonderful. The front door looks across to the beach and the back door looks out over the pool. The grocery store is a block away. The condo was in great shape and we enjoyed every minute. The owner was very easy to work with. Each of the women thought it would be a great place to return with our families.

Excellent choice!

My husband and I stayed in this condo unit in May with some friends. We had 5 adults and 3 children. Sleeping arrangments were very comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and outdoor grill area. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to save money by "eating in". Beach access is directly accross the street and the water's edge is only 100 yards or so from the front door. Unit has all the amenities of a home away from home. Owners are very cooperative and friendly, meeting us on site with the keys and a short tour. We are planning another island trip in September and would have gone in August but there are not vacancies. We will wait until September simply because we don't want to stay anywhere else! If you choose this condo unit for your family getaway you won't be disappointed!!!

Perfection !!!!

I don't think that we could have stayed at a better place during our vacation. The conveniences alone are worth it. Extremely close to the beach...great views from the patios....very private..the list could go on and on. We were two families ( 4 adults, 2 teens, 2 children) and we were very ..VERY comfortable. There was more than enough space for everyone. The decor was very relaxing and serene. The condo is supplied with everything you could possibly need and even some extras that we didn't expect. The washer and dryer were very helpful and used often. The pool was kept clean and was never overcrowded and the hot tub was fantastic. We stayed four days and three nights and didn't want to leave. The owner is very nice and helpful. You will not be disappointed!!!
