Single level, ranch style home situated in a rural setting. the property fronts a dead end side road with little traffic influence. Yard areas are natural lawn and mature forest. South exposure is provided with some mountain views. The dwellinig offers and open living design with living room, dining room and kitchen under a vaulted ceiling with ample window area. There are four bedrooms, one set up as a den with a sofabed, desk, tv with dvd and vcr. The master bedroom has an ensuite with a corner shower. Main bathroom has a soaker tub. Living room has a woodstove; the house also has baseboard heat throughout. Large deck, partly covered has a BBQ and covered area at the front of the house.
We rented this property so that we could get our family together for my birthday. The property had plenty of space for our 4 young grandchildren. The rustic playhouse in the garden kept them amused for hours. they also enjoyed the trampoline. Landlady also lent us a big box of childrens videos. With the property being so close to a nice little beach ( 10 minutes walk ) it proved to be ideal for us and we had a brilliant holiday. Generally speaking the property could do with a bit of T.L.C.

If you are looking for a deluxe accommodation, you are probably best to look somewhere elsewhere and to spend more money. Very satisfactory.
My family and I have been returning to this Shawnigan Lake Rancher for several years in a row, and we very much look forward to our week by the lake. One year the whole week it poured rain but we were still able to enjoy the outdoors thanks to the portion of the sundeck that is covered. We love that the rancher is so spacious and we each have our own bedroom, it's also a nice option when our friends come up to visit they are able to spend the night. The owner has always been more then helpful and willing to bring us extra items as requested. We also enjoy the scenic stroll along the railroad tracks to Old Mill Park Beach.Also there are plenty of places to shop for groceries and all necessities a short drive away.The photos describe the appearance perfectly and I have always found the property clean and well maintained. In fact on this gray February day our trip in August can not come fast enough. If you are looking for an enjoyable break from city life this is the place especially is you are fond of star gazing !!!!
The location was good and the house had lots of space however, the place was not clean and had a weird smell. Though it could sleep 10 people, there were only enough dishes for 6 people which didn't work for us. They do require you to wash all your bedding and towels before you leave and we found this difficult when leaving early in the morning to catch the ferry. Front porch was falling apart and was very unsafe. There is potential here, but you do get what you pay for.

Property has new laminate flooring in 2 bedrooms and hallway. New toilet and sink in main bathroom. There is a play stage set and a concrete pad on one side of the house and a trampoline in the lower front yard area. Walk down the Old Mill Paths to the beach in 5 minutes.
