Guestbook comments from the manager

Hi Lou and Kristin,

Whew! Now that we aren’t so consumed with planning and guests etc. can take a moment to thank you properly for your hospitality. Your home was just perfect for our wedding – from accommodations for us and our helper elves (friends) , to the natural and architectural environment for the wedding and reception. Your home provided the very special location while still being comfortable for everyone. The day, the place, the whole package was far more than we could have ever asked for! We’ve actually received many votes from our guests for “The Best Wedding Ever”. We’re basking in the afterglow. A lifetime of memories to enjoy.

And now, since you asked for pictures…I’m sending you a link to a gallery our photographer friends made. You may want to scroll across the bottom to get the pictures that interest you most. If there are pictures you are interested in using for Red Wolf rental promotion materials, let us know and we’ll get the files to you.

Here’s the gallery:

Kindest Regards,

Sarah and Grailing

Tranquility above the Clouds

  • 5 of 5

I believe that tranquility, happiness and contentment come form within, but if you are at all inclined toward achieving these, this is the perfect setting. We fell in love with the breathtaking views of Carmel & the Pacific Ocean, living above the fog, but still cool enough to be comfortable, and the peaceful quiet setting, while still just a quick drive to Carmel-By-The-Sea, Big Sur & Monterey. The home itself is the essence of luxury, with plenty of space, views from every room, and beautiful furnishings throughout. What made the experience all the better was the warm welcome we received from Pamela as well as Lou & his amazing family. We haven't even left the airport, and we are already talking about our next trip back.

Living above the clouds!

  • 5 of 5

Architecturely stunning home. Four comfortable bed/bath areas with amazing views. Grilling out on the back terrace next to the waterfall feature was great. Perfect place for our family to come together for a week long visit. Trips to Carmel and Monterrey took no time at all. So many great day trips for kayaking, sailing, hiking, beach walks, spa at Pebble Beach and exceptional dining out. Definitely high end accommodations and views for miles. Worth the expense making memories of a lifetime! S Mason / Mississippi

Stunning views, amazing property! A hidden Gem

  • 5 of 5

Property manager, Pamela, was amazing. I was in touch with her before our trip and she offered to help with anything we needed while visiting. We have been to the area before, so we didn't get her to book reservations or activities for us, but she stocked the place with my grocery list.

The pictures truly don't do this place justice. Amazing views all day long, even at night. The fish pond adds to the ambience. No complaints about the property. House was clean and had all that we could want.

Location is great, you can park down at the bottom of the driveway, and walk right across the street to Point Lobos State Natural reserve. Grocery store is about 5 minutes away and it's in a little shopping center.

We stayed mid June and they had unusually cool temps for the area. So of course, we lit a fire in the fireplace.

We will visit the area again and stay here!

Wow! !! (Speechless would have been the only other reaction!)

  • 5 of 5

With 15 people including 2 children in our group at this mini family reunion, we booked both the Estate house and the Adobe house. We could not have been happier. The views from both houses are simply breathtaking, mesmerizing, inspiring: In our extensive travels, few rival the stunningly spectacular views throughout the day from this elevation. Both houses are just lovely and afford our group that perfect blend of comfort, luxury, and serenity. There were plenty of plush bath and bed linens; the high-end appliances (including a Breville espresso!) completely delivered; and there were well-stocked and thoughtful provisions for the entire week of our stay. (And yes, the pictures are completely accurate, but to stay here was even better!)

Both the owner and Pamela, the manager, were very quick, clear, and helpful in their communications throughout. Pamela, in particular, made a point of making us feel so welcomed and at-home from the moment we checked in: “Remember, you are on vacation. We want you to have a memorable stay here and not have to worry about anything” --and Pamela really meant it!!!

Starting from the turn from Hwy 1 to the point when we entered the property, we were simply swept away by the beauty of it all. Upon leaving, we swooned … In between, all three generations in our group considered ourselves most fortunate to have stayed at Lou's houses while taking in all that Big Sur offered. We will not forget this experience.

I stayed with 7 friends from high school to celebrate our 50th birthdays. The house was wonderful! We spent lots of time on the patio enjoying the spectacular views. it was a special treat to find an espresso machine so I could enjoy a latte every morning. I highly recommend this rental!

beautiful property, property manager was very helpful and answered very quickly

  • 5 of 5

This house is absolutely beautiful with beautiful views. It is very spacious and is perfect for lots of couples to stay in. We enjoyed grilling and using the kitchen which had everything you need to cook. We also enjoyed the views from the porch in the evening. The house is quiet off by itself which makes it very relaxing. There are plenty of windows and doors to let in light and you could even hear the waterfall out front. I would recommend this house to anyone considering it.

Enjoy the unique microclimate is 10 – 15 degrees warmer than Carmel and high above the fog. Sunrises and Sunsets are 360 degrees and Carmel Village lights up the night below as the fog treads it’s way through the Valley. Thousands of acres of California State Parks open space surround this property. (note green park land on Google Map) Large open space allows for little ambient light creating an abundance of stars and planet viewing.

Other Activities: kayaking, wildlife viewing, rock climbing, health/beauty spa, shopping, boating
