Southeast Denver Cozy, Private, 4 Bedroom Retreat with Wifi

Bedrooms 4
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 7-8)

This home provides an ideal escape for vacationers and a quiet working atmosphere for those on business. Located near both the Colorado and the Yale stations of the Southeast Lightrail, you have fast and easy access to downtown and the Denver Tech Center. Many shopping and fitness conveniences are a short walk away, and it's even closer to tennis and swimming at nearby Eisenhower Park.

The charm of this early fifties vintage home, coupled with it's updated conveniences, give it an irresistible appeal. Classic and understated touches throughout the home remind you of the natural beauty that is so abundant outside your door. The home sits on a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood street, just 10 houses north of a beautiful public golf course. The large, fenced backyard is ideal for cookouts and child's play.

The bedrooms are outfitted with high-quality linens and plush pillows. Each has a dresser and a closet for ample storage space.

The kitchen is an efficient layout and equipped with all the conveniences you'd expect: a dishwasher, microwave, and gas stove. There are stainless steel pots and pans, dishes and flatware for eight.

The living room boasts a large LCD TV with cable and On-Demand, a stereo system and a DVD player. There are a few DVDs in the home that you are welcome to view, or you can choose one of the hundreds on FREE On-Demand movies that are available to watch.

If you bring your own laptop with wireless capabilities, our WIFi works great on the porch or in the backyard. There is also a full sized laundry room downstairs with a front loading washer and dryer. Should you need to press your clothes, the ironing board and iron are located there, along with supplies to run a load.

When you are lured outside by Colorado's great weather, you'll find a gas grill and table and chairs in the backyard. Beyond that, the public golf course, tennis courts, walking and running trails through natural areas, a YMCA and 24 Hour Fitness are all so close you can leave the car in the garage.

Back at your Colorado cottage, sit back and gaze at the dappled green of the old maple in the backyard while you enjoy Denver's cool summer evenings, or enjoy the colors of the fall when the air turns crisp. Your tranquility will be complete when you snuggle into those soft sheets and slip into restful sleep.

In addition, we have a large furnished downstairs, perfect for games or play when the weather is inclement.

About Jeanette M Rockers

Jeanette and Kathy, along with Kathy's husband, Brian purchased the Jackson House in 2008 in order to provide a cool retreat for Kathy and Brian's family, who are from the Phoenix area. Jeanette has lived in the Wellshire neighborhood for more than 30 years and she is a licensed acupuncturist. Kathy and Brian are high school teachers in Phoenix, which gives them some time in the summer to enjoy Denver.

Why Jeanette M Rockers chose Denver

Because Jeanette has lived in this neighborhood for so many years, we knew it was a solid investment. We liked Jackson House the moment we saw it. The location is ideal for active families and quiet vacationers. The proximity of local restaurants, conveniences, and access to downtown and the Tech Center via freeways and Light Rail makes the home's location particularly attractive. It is a functional floorplan, making wise use of the square footage. The great surprise was what a terrific neighborhood community it turned out to be.

What makes this house unique

Brian and Kathy stay at the house each year and their children enjoy the fenced, grassy yard and the Legos in the basement, as well as the many children's books kept at the home. Kathy appreciates the easy-to-use kitchen and lush backyard for the children, while Brian doesn't get to enjoy the house. He only works on it.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for making our stay in Denver comfortable and stress-free. The house is great, loved the neighborhood, too. Yummy, close-by restaurants: Sushi Den on Pearl Street and Little India on Downing - just in case anyone is looking for a recommendation!

Wonderful house - Couldn't be better!

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 5 arriving in denver after a LONG drive from Mpls.

Jeanette was wonderful with her communication, allowing us to checkin early. The house is in a quiet neighborhood close to the University of Denver campus. It is centrally located, wonderfully clean, and appointed with everything you could need. The sheets and towels were high quality, the beds are very compfortable and we loved the private backyard and sitting area. Jeanette went out of her way to make us feel welcome, complete with a book of maps, and suggested restaurants. She even lent us a spare ipad charger cord so we didn't have to purchase one! I can't say enough good things about this rental, and would highly reccomend it.

Thanks so much Jeanette for yuor hospitality! We will be back for sure!

Awesome times in Denver

  • 5 of 5

The Jackson House was home to my extended family and me this summer. The place was perfect --- well kept; open and comfortable common areas; a fantastic backyard with a spacious patio.

The house was laid out perfectly for our group -- the adults had their quiet space on the main floor, the teenagers were able to "escape" to the downstairs suite as needed.

Jeanette was a great host. She was quick with email replies and made the entire process easy for this first-time VRBO'er.

I'd highly recommend Jackson House as a home away from home.

Quite neighborhood! House with plenty of room.

  • 4 of 5

The owner was really great with communicating with me. We felt right at home. Plenty of room for 8 people. Beds were comfortable. Backyard is cute and set up for little kids to play! Kitchen was perfect. The tv was a little confusing on how to turn on. Close to everything you would need. Grocery, liquor stores etc.. A great rent. Will definitely come back.

Perfect house for our group!

  • 5 of 5

We had a group of 8...2 families with 2 teenagers each. The house was very accommodating with 2 family rooms and nice back yard. Great place for anyone with young kids, books and play area in the yard. Beds were comfortable and everything we needed in the kitchen was there. We loved using the light rail to go into the city to watch a hockey game and a baseball game and do some shopping and dining. We traveled to Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods and did the Lariat Loop, out of Golden also. The local area provided a quick access to groceries, Dave and Busters and a little shopping for the teenagers. Perfect location to have as a home base. I will tell our friends traveling to Denver to stay here!

Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

The house is just as described. There are 3 bedrooms and 1 bath all located together on the main level. Downstairs there is a master with en suite bathroom. Also a twin bed in the lower living area. It was "cozy" but plenty of room for our group and nice to have the living spaces up and downstairs to spread out. The owner was very helpful and made an extra trip to make sure we got a couple items we left behind before heading to the airport.
