2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, city centre location ideal for transport, shops & sights
I am a married mum of two, qualified as a Chartered Accountant. In my spare time I enjoy curling and touch rugby and have been fortunate enough to represent Scotland at the latter. My favourite travel destination is Australia where I spent a gap year in my younger days.
Rowan purchased this Apartment in 2014
Why Rowan chose Glasgow
My husband and I are graduates of the nearby University of Strathclyde and both have fond memories of our student days in Glasgow. We regularly use the apartment ourselves and chose it due to its location within a short walk of the train stations, making it a perfect weekend getaway for our family. We wanted somewhere in the heart of things but also suitable to use with our children. Glasgow is very much a city which always has something happening, hosting important venues such as the SSE Hydro, Emirates Arena, Sir Chris Hoy velodrome, SECC and Hampden Park.
What makes this Apartment unique
Location, location, location! It really is perfectly located for all that Glasgow has to offer. The apartment is within walking distance of the two main line train stations and the bus station. Along with nearby Argyle train station and St Enoch and Buchanan subways stops these provide easy access to all other areas of Glasgow including the main event venues. The Merchant City is the buzzing, vibrant heart of this cosmopolitan city with everything you need is on your doorstep. For a break from the hustle and bustle of the city the wide expanses of Glasgow Green are a walkable 1km away. We bought the flat just before the Commonwealth Games and during 2015 have extensively refurbished it to a high standard, fitting a new kitchen and en-suite shower room and redecorating throughout.

Great central location
The preparation and setup was a snap. The location is perfect for walking the city.
Great city centre base
Ticked all the boxes for a short stay in Glasgow for a family celebration.
Loved the space... lots of room & very clean & modern
Excellent central location
I recently stayed in this flat for a family event. The location was excellent very close to George Square. The apartment is kitted out to a high spec. Everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The lounge area is significantly big and the shared outside space on the first floor next to the appartment is HUGE. The host was very helpful and check in flawless. Would highly recommend
The ceilings are miles high in this apartment and it has a lovely modern clean feel. Very close to shopping streets and train and bus stations. Rowan was quick to respond to requests and was able to accommodate a slightly later check out for us. You can tell she cares about her guests and their experience. She has a guestbook in the flat so you can see what other guests have enjoyed and recommend. Its an older building with single pane windows so we did hear some noise from the street (some crazy bird party was happening one night!) and there wasn’t a lot of water pressure in the ensuite shower, but the bathtub was great! And the combo washer dryer was the first I actually understood on our travels through Europe, thanks to her simple labeling. Finally had dry clothes! Really loved our stay!
Nice apartment in great location
We spent just over a week in this apartment in order to attend the Celtic Connections music festival. There are many things to recommend this apartment. Firstly, our hostess Rowan was very responsive. Communications during the booking, pre-stay and during our stay were great. The apartment itself could not be better located. Walking distance from both Queen St. Station, Central Station, and a stone's throw to George Square. Many sights are walkable or a short easy bus ride. The area is chock full of restaurant choices and shops. Many of the concert venues were a short walk. The apartment was very clean - which was very much appreciated. The kitchen had everything we needed including the manuals on appliance operation in case there was a problem (we had to read it to figure out the hob). Although there were only two of us, the apartment would easily accomodate 4 people based on the bed configuration. And having TWO and a HALF BATHROOMS was wonderful. There was always abundant hot water. Now for the only negative criticism of the apartment - along with the convenient location comes alot of street noise. The street itself functions as a sort of sound tunnel - and although the street isn't busy with traffic there are a couple of bars on the street. I wore earplugs which took care of the problem for me but if I had not had them it would have been difficult to get any sleep. Again - it's a trade off for the great location which was important to us. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
