We restored our 1885 Victorian Cottage in historic downtown St Marys several years ago..... Whew...it brings lots of company so we added an adorable garage apartment... though we have rented it short term to seasonal guests, it really would be perfect for a longer stay.
It is SMALL and upstairs over our garage, but perfect, ideal for a single person or couple.... our neighbors are wonderful, proximity to the water, to downtown, to our local restaurants, to the Cumberland Island ferry... all just a block away! We love our home and strive to make our guests feel as welcome as they want to be... we hope you will visit and enjoy our grand town and Southern hospitality!

About the owner: We moved to St Marys Ga after thirty-one years for Anne in Hilton Head, and twenty-nine years for Julie in Hilton Head....the husbands became ex's, the children grew up and we two old geezers decided it would be fun to find a water community and redo an old house!!! Upon first sight, ours was in GREAT DISREPAIR...and frankly I thought Julie and our realtor had lost their minds... I know the house was built in 1885 but it was deplorable...bad, bad shape, had an odor about it...but they just looked at me and smiled and collectively said..." it's got such good bones"....so bones convinced me to ante up my portion of money and what a great time we had knocking it down and putting it back together again!!! can't wait for you to come visit and get our tour!!!!...anne is on the left and Julie is on the right and the other two claim us a friends...we were over on Cumberland for the day, having a tour of Greyfield Inn....

After living in Hilton Head Island, SC for so many years, we were both ready for a change....and that we have!!! A slow pace, churches that we can walk to on Sunday, a vibrant, constantly changing community, lots of friends and extremely fun people, lots of history, lots of yardwork, lots of parties, and wonderful waters close by for that shrimping, fishing, and crabbing that these old gals like to do!...our proximity to the bigger cities is wonderful for good food, lively entertainment, or escaping to skies and beyond...though we love to travel, it just feels right to come back home...we love St Marys...
