Why Tina Studier chose Mount Crested Butte
We feel Crested Butte is a wonderful combination of extraordinary natural beauty, historic architectural charm, and an inviting, open-minded local culture. They hope you have a wonderful stay at their favorite place in the Rocky Mountains!
What makes this Lodge unique
Our favorite thing to do is enjoy a meal down at the base at Django's then return to the house and sit by the fire with friends and family enjoying a glass of wine. The Retreat is such a wonderfully relaxing place to be!

The property was one of the most impressive places I’ve ever stayed.
For a large group looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to gather that is only a short walk from the ski resort, there is not a better option in Crested Butte.
We hosted a corporate retreat at the lodge. Accommodations are first class with all bedrooms and bathrooms very nicely appointed. The living areas are large and comfortable. Anthony, the on site caretaker, is very friendly and helpful. Kitchen and dining area accommodated our group of 12 very comfortably. I read in some of the reviews complaints about the stairs. Yes, it is a house on the mountain and you should expect that there will be stairs to accommodate the slope. All around, I would highly recommend this property to any large groups. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and made things very easy. 5 stars.
We take about 15 folks from my company on a ski trip every year for the last 15 years and we always rent the biggest house we can find. This house has been the best we've ever found for accommodating so many folks so comfortably due to the layout of so many rooms with their own private bathes, hot tubs, etc. Tina and Anthony we're fantastic in ensuring we had all we need and went extra steps to accommodate the size and needs of our group.
Can't say enough about Crested Butte and this house - you'll love it.
Outstanding Gathering, Great House!
Can't say enough about the entire experience. We needed a place to accommodate 14 married men on a Guys Getaway Ski Trip. It was epic. Yes the massive storms helped as the mountain was in it's prime especially the side country. The best part was the House! We loved being able to have all our meals together out of that Gourmet Kitchen around that King's Table! The evening gatherings up in the living room for movies (great media system), or down in the 2 other areas for cards or conversation were so comfortable. This house is setup for Massage Therapists and we had 3 visit each afternoon to keep us old guys skiing for 4 full days! Of course minor issues arose and when they did Anthony was all over it and resolved them quickly. We had an Epic Experience and would definitely return to this house.
Renters beware - Nice place but shady owners
First, note: there is no mention of the stairs required to get in and out of this property! Not for the elderly or anyone with Knee or Back issues. You have to descend 3 flights of stairs on the outside just to get in the front door. Then all Bedrooms, Kitchen and activity are on different floors. So, make sure you are in shape or there to get in shape.
Second, consider the deposit a donation. Buyer claimed and charged us damage that was already there (Toilet Paper Holder pulled out of wall) and Steak Knives and Glass ware. One glass broke in the dishwasher and we were charged for 4, claimed 2 steak knives missing, which is disputed, and charged for set of 4! And no consideration to my dispute.
Third - Hot Tub Lids are old, water logged and too heavy to lift off or impossible to put back on after use. Castle Room Hot Tub kept popping the breaker and nothing was done despite several calls to care taker. Microwave did not work and we were told to walk up 2 flights and use the microwave in the Apartment.
Rooms are nice, TV's in the rooms are very old and kids could not connect X-Box games to play. TV room is a projection TV that projects wider than the screen so edges of whatever you are watching is cut off.
Owner will tell you that you can ski out and into the property, yes with a 1/4 mile walk down the road.
So if you're good with the bad, the place has some great features. The Kitchen area is perfect for group gathering while preparing dinner. The sitting area just off the kitchen is great gathering place and gas assisted fireplace is awesome to thaw out around after trekking back from the hill. Great decks off the kitchen/sitting area. And huge Dinning table for large group to dine together. Top of the line appliances, Viking stove and gas cook top, 2nd oven, double refrigerator.
Has great exercise room with free weights and old model treadmill, if you need it after climbing the stairs. Each suite has a hot tub on the deck and good views with spectacular sun rise and sunset viewing.
One last gripe, they suggest they have a caretaker, but it's also a rouse to suck more money out of you. He's a nice young lad that has fallen into a great situation. He's there if you want to pay him. But when we got a big snow, we had to clear the walk/steps or risk breaking our necks on the slippery steps.
The apartment is not nearly as nice as the house and has separate entrance 1/2 up the stairs to the garage/parking area.
Crested Butte Destination Wedding. Groom's family home with suite for the bride and groom.
Exquisite Retreat! Breathtaking views! Beautifully decorated!
There were 15 of us who traveled from Salt Lake City, Des Moines and Denver. We had 5 days to reunite, relax and celebrate in the perfect home in the Colorado mountains!
The kitchen was well stocked with dishes of every shape and size, ample cooking vessels and utensils, 2 refrigerators, 2 dishwashers, and all appropriate barware, including ice buckets and a martini shaker. I would have liked to see more towels and washcloths as I don't like to put stemmed barware in the dishwasher but Anthony, the fabulous caretaker, brought me what he could round up. Unfortunately, they were rags but clean and not too stained :-(
The bathrooms had great quality Turkish towels and robes, hair dryers, lotion, body wash, shampoo, conditioner and bar soap. Oh, and slippers for your trips to the hot tubs!
The beds, linens and pillows were comfortable, clean and fresh, as was all the furniture. All rooms were clean. This is the fifth home we've rented and by far the most superb!
Anthony, the fabulous caretaker, was attentive, spot-on, and unobtrusive.
Our 5 grandchildren ranged in age from 4 to 11, had no trouble with all the levels, in fact, they had the 'lay-of-the-land' before I did, and thoroughly enjoyed themselves taking advantage of the games and puzzles provided in the study.
Overall- we had an absolute ball!
We are not a ski-in/out property, but we are a short walk down the road to the slopes. During the ski season, there is a free shuttle that will pick you up in front of the house and bring you to the base area. You can also transfer to another shuttle at the base area which will take you down to the town of Mt. Crested Butte where there are many restaurants and shops to enjoy.
