House, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 3.0+ Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Latest update:in the Smithsonian Magazine for April 2013 St. Augustine is on the list of America 's 20 best small towns as #3. It is really great for vacations.

This is more than a clean, comfy & cozy vacation rental. Serenity will overtake you as soon as you walk in this beautifully restored historic coquina city home. The calming effect of the cool Florida colors with the high ceilings will put you in the mood for the best getaway experience ever! This 3 bedroom home has had a complete remodel including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, plus fresh interior plaster throughout. And the outstanding kitchen is breathtaking state of the art. It was highlighted by Better Homes & Gardens “Kitchen & Bath Ideas” magazine in the Sept./Oct. 2009 issue.

This home features two bedrooms downstairs. The downstairs bath has a separate shower and a claw foot tub. There is a glass block window that lets in plenty of natural light. You can soak in the claw foot tub with light streaming in the window in complete privacy. Upstairs you’ll find the master suite. The master suite has a queen bed, and twin day bed plus a nice sunny window seat. The bath has a jetted tub with a folding shower door, a dressing area with lots of storage. The upstairs has its own HVAC unit so the temp can be easily controlled.

For fun, relax on the front porch and watch the horse drawn carriages clop by. Travel to the back and enjoy the lush Palm trees in the fenced private patio oasis in the grill party area. Jump on the (2) bikes and discover the historic St. Augustine downtown (founded in 1565). Take part in endless museums, shopping, restaurants, art galleries and music.

Here are a few more fun adventures:

…Farmers market-(Wed morningon the island & Sat. morning at the amphitheater) Purchase fresh local produce, breads & fish, jewlery plus live music.

…Drive on the beach (nearby over the bridge of Lions) & unload your chairs, beach towels, boogie boards & coolers for fun in the sun. (Provided)

…Visit Yard Birds (our favorite breakfast place) or Mango-Mango on the island

…See St. Augustine in style riding in your own horse drawn carriage or be a part of the educational trolley tour.

…First Friday art walk-the first Friday of each month enjoy art with music and refreshments

…Outstanding Outlet Mall with hundreds of stores right off Hwy 95 & Hwy 16

…Famous Alligator Farm-get up close & personal…but not too close! Also, the historic fort is fantastic.

Don’t let this gem slip away. Book your St. Augustine memories now!!!

About Crystal

We presently live in the Atlanta area and are not yet retired.

Crystal purchased this house in 2005

Why Crystal chose Lincolnville

This home was purchased as a second home and a friend told us about the VRBO web site when we were looking for a way to list the house for vacation rental. St. Augustine is such a fun city and the house sat empty quite a bit of the time so it made good sense to rent it.

What makes this house unique

You will enjoy this beautiful house that has everything you need to cook or entertain. It is nice to walk or bike ride to the downtown and the many historic places and to shop on St. George Street. The drive or bike ride to the beach is aprox. 3.5 miles. The high ceilings give a calm to the house that is great for vacations. The city is so much fun to explore and also for learning about its history.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Mrs. Painter,

Jim and I are now back from our travels and we continually talk about how

much we enjoyed our time south and, in particular, your home. We want to

thank you for sharing it with us. We felt very comfortable there as it

reminded us, in some ways, of our own home which is of a similar age and

totally renovated. We also really enjoyed our first visit to St. Augustine,

meeting the neighbours and getting to ride around town on the bikes.

We did our best to leave the house as we found it and, due to some

overshopping, left numerous food/drink items that we were unable to use in

the freezer and elsewhere. Hopefully, your next guests were able to enjoy

it.

We hope that you will consider letting us rent your home again some time in

the future. Hopefully, you and your family will also get a chance to spend

some time there soon.

Best regards,

Helen and Jim

P.S. You did a great job on the kitchen reno and I can see why it was

Great place !

  • 5 of 5

The Doll House is a very comfortable clean home and very close to the historic downtown. The place was very roomy for the 6 of us and Chrystal was very accommodating. We would love to come back again.

Historic House

  • 3 of 5

While we loved staying at this beautiful house and visiting with family, the owner does not allow payments through VRBO. They said we had soiled a carpet and I asked for a picture for verification. I never received a response and our deposit was not refunded in full. The house is very lovely and was thoughtfully stocked with essentials for a family. The coffee pot didn't work, the kitchen sink drain was sluggish and the large umbrella in the back yard was broken. We have stayed at VRBO homes all over the world and have never not had our deposit returned in full. The steps are very steep so I would not recommend people with disabilities or elderly people stay at this property.

A wonderful house

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this house for the entire month of April, and couldn't have been happier. The house just felt like home. Tastefully decorated, and complete with everything you'll need for a pleasant stay. The home is conveniently located a walking distance to town on a quite street in Lincolnville, with history all around it. The owners Crystal and Jim were great to deal with and fun to visit with as well. We were so happy with everything have already started the reservation for next April. Kevin and Roseann
