Overview

About the property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom Cabin with Mountain Views

Our cabin is nestled in the majestic mountain terrain of Gallatin National Forest and is just twelve miles from Gardiner, a year round gateway to Yellowstone National Park. It is the perfect distance to be able to enjoy Yellowstone but be able to get away from the crowds. From The Lazy M Yellowstone National Park is a scenic 20-25 minute drive. Our cabin is 30 minutes from Chico Hot Springs, an hour from Livingston, and hour and a half from Bozeman Airport.

The cabin is adjacent to Cinnabar Creek, which is great for small trout fishing, and has a magnificent porch with Adirondack chairs to enjoy the beautiful mountain view. If you want to just sit back and relax you can spend hours sitting on the porch next to the creek drinking coffee or wine while reading one of our many books or just enjoying the peaceful environment. Watch deer, elk, and big horn sheep in the meadow out the front door, along the creek or on the nearby bluffs. Bears have also been seen from the porch and along the road. If you are really lucky you may even see a mountain lion. During the evening hours make sure to keep an ear open for howling wolves.

There is a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, pull out sleeper sofa in main cabin and a Tulikivi Fireplace.

This is a mountain cabin in the heart of Montana’s wilderness. While it has most of the amenities of home, it is still a rustic cabin. We have books, travel guides and games in the cabin. There is no TV or phone in the cabin.

About Emily Sherman, Paul & Laurel Koller

Paul and Emily purchased our property in 1994 after looking for a number of years. Emily's great grandfather had owned a general store next to the Crow Indian reservation in the 1890's. Her grandmother grew up in Anaconda, Montana. We have always enjoyed the landscape and dry mountain air of Montana. Paul and Emily had vacationed for many years in Yellowstone National Park before we purchased the LazyM. Day to day operation of the LazyM is done by Paul and Emily's daughter Laurel

Why Emily Sherman, Paul & Laurel Koller chose Yellowstone Country

We choose this location because of it's proximity to Yellowstone Park and the beautiful scenery of Paradise Valley while allowing us quiet seclusion when needed. We enjoy hiking, fishing and both downhill and cross country skiing.

What makes this cabin unique

Sitting on the porch or deck you have a wonderful view of Cinnabar mountain. At night you can sleep with the sound of the creek flowing by and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Our cabin was built in the 1950's and we have tried to preserve it's original charm. We have white pine floors in the main cabin and rustic kitchen cabinets.

A Secluded Hideaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a wonderful time at this cabin. We arrived after four long days of traveling and were amazed how secluded and quaint the cabin was. It was very clean and uncluttered. There was plenty of room to be comfortable and a beautiful porch to sit and relax and just be. A stream next to the cabin sang us to sleep each night and a beautiful sunrise greeted us each morning. This was all we could have hoped for while visiting Yellowstone. It was recommended to us by our son, who stayed there two years ago, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone planning to visit in the future. We hope to get back there some day, but for now we have our beautiful pictures to enjoy of a perfect vacation and a perfect secluded, cozy cabin!

Perfect site off the beaten path. Clean and convenient.

  • 5 of 5

Very convenient and clean with everything needed for our visit to YSP. Just a few minutes to Gardiner then a few more minutes to the park. The bed was very comfy and lots of interesting reading material in the cabin. Would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet place outside the park.

We loved staying in this cabin. It was the perfect size for two of us. It was also nice to be able to hear the creek from the bedroom!

This place was perfect for our roadtrip to yellowstone

  • 5 of 5

This cozy little cabin was a perfect place to start and end our days exploring yellowstone. It allowed my husband and I to relaxing and unwind after our packed days of driving to see this and that. It had all the essentials, no sink in the bathroom was no problem, it allowed us to brush our teeth in the kitchen while we watched chipmunks eat the grass on the porch. I loved it's rustic charm. It's quiet and just what we needed after being in the crowded park all day. We would stay again.

Quiet retreat from the craziness in Yellowstone

  • 4 of 5

We loved the winding drive up the road to the cabin. Parking and walking through the native grasses to the front door was a step towards relaxation. The cabin was a quiet spot to unwind and unplug. We enjoyed sitting on the porch watching wildlife be wild.

the perfect quiet retreat

  • 5 of 5

We found this cabin was the perfect distance from Yellowstone and a quiet place to relax after a long day at the park. The cabin is clean and well furnished with everything you need. The owners provided resource booklets for the area which we found very helpful. It's about a 15 minute drive up the mountain, we were happy to have packed meals to cook during our stay. If we happen to be out this way in the future, we will be looking for this place again.
