Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6 maximum)

This home is a charming example of old St. Simons charm. Situated on a quiet street completely shaded by live oaks, you will feel like you have stepped back in time. The home is located at 609 Sea Breeze Drive in St. Simons. We are a short walk to the beach and to the village. Outside, there is a shaded deck area with Adirondack chairs and a gas grill.

Inside, the home is family friendly with a large living room area with sunroom and a stone fireplace (currently not functional for fires). The living room has a TV, DVD, and wireless internet. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking and dining, with a dining area that seats 6 people at the table. Off of the kitchen is a large utility room with a full sized washer and dryer. There are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor. The first bedroom contains a queen sized bed. The second downstairs bedroom has a queen sized bed, a twin bed with an additional twin trundle underneath, and a flat screen TV. The second floor contains the third bedroom with a queen sized bed and private bath and a TV. Note that this is an older cottage, so the second floor ceiling is quite low (6 1/2 feet), so may not be suitable for tall guests.

About The Owner

My husband and I are native Atlantans and currently reside in Dunwoody. I have been coming to the St. Simons area my entire life. My husband fell in love with the area during a visit to St. Simons over New Years Weekend 2000. On an impulse, we purchased our first property on St. Simons during that fateful trip and it was the best decision that we have made. We love visiting the area with our 2 girls and can't wait for the day that we can spend even more time on the coast.

The Owner purchased this house in 2008

Why The Owner chose St Simons Island

Ever since we purchased our first rental property, we have been on the lookout for an actual house as opposed to a townhome. We knew this home was for us when we drove down the shaded street under the arched live oaks - I am so happy to actually have some of these wonderous giants in our yard! We loved the charm of this house with the wood paneling and stone fireplace - the old St. Simons feel.

What makes this house unique

This is a very quiet street with plenty of privacy. We are close to the beach and the village but away from the crowds.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a wonderful 3 weeks in the Seabreeze house! We would love to come back next year. Thanks again!

Wonderful As Always

  • 5 of 5

We're just home from our sixth stay in the Bungalow and booked to return next year. After two months in the house, Feb and Mar, we miss it and look forward to our next stay. In addition to it's old Saint Simon's charm, the place is comfortable and the location perfect. The kitchen, the hvac system and the laundry machines work well and the beds are comfortable. The owners keep the house up with regular improvements and respond quickly when contacted. This year they sent a new pots and pans set. Perhaps a small thing, but what a pleasure when we're there for two months. We have always appreciated the laundry/storage room with it's side entrance. We bring our dog, bikes, golf clubs and at least one kayak. We can put the dog food and everything else, but the kayak, in there out of the rain. Really handy. In our 70's we walk to the beach and village easily . Hardly have to drive. If you are new to SSI, try Palm Coast, Iguanas and GA Sea Grill in the village. Try too the farmer's market near the airport. For music try to hear Joey and Keith, aka the Mufflers and Backbeat Boulevard. By the way, the internet now works fine.

Our third year at this home anf we still love it.

This is an older home that is spacious and full of character. This year we had an intermittent problem with the Internet. The owner did everything in her power to have it fixed. I'm sure the issue is temorary.

Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

I believe this is our fifth time staying at this cottage. It feels like home to us. It is very comfortable and clean. With so many good restaurants I never cooked until this trip. It has everything you need to prepare meals. The beds are very comfortable, therefore we missed breakfast a couple of days. My dog enjoys the beach as you can let your dog run without a leash in the fall spring and winter. We can't wait to go back.

Had a great time at St Simon Island. Came for a long weekend with husband and two dogs. We loved the walks with the dogs and on our bikes. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home. We loved it. We hope to come back again.
