80 hectares of grounds with meadows and forests stretch out all around you. Off in the distance, horses graze peacefully in the fields. Hosts Arnaud and Fabienne took over Domaine de La Valette in 2014 and offer guest houses and rooms of charm in the most idyllic of settings.
With its manor house and superb farmhouse dating back to the 17th century, now converted into guest houses, the Domaine is just the place for a relaxing break. Between sunning in a deckchair by the pool, picnics on the grass or visits to the Domaine’s farm, this is the perfect spot to charge up your batteries and is ideal for nature-lovers.
The Domain’s former farmhouse has been restored and converted into three adjoining hous-es, Lavande, Romance & Tour Blanche, and one detached house, Les Cèdres. Les Rosiers is a detached house and was built recently in local Périgord style. La Ferme Cante Cocu is a self-contained guest house about 200 metres from the main house near the farm buildings.
Old wooden beams, 17th-century fireplaces, stone walls, terracotta floor tiles and antique furnishings, all the houses are spacious and tastefully decorated and fitted out.
For those in search of great places to visit, the region boasts an astonishingly varied range of possibilities: Périgord and its outstanding cultural and gastronomic heritage, mediaeval castles, the vineyards of Bergerac and Bordeaux, and the magnificent towns of Sarlat, Périgueux and Bergerac. The Domain is also within easy reach of many UNESCO World Heritage-listed sites, such as the Lascaux prehistoric cave, the stunning city of Bordeaux and the mediaeval town of Saint-Emilion perched on its rocky outcrop.
Those who prefer sports activities can go canoeing down the Dordogne, knock a ball around on the village’s tennis court, head out on foot, bike or horseback across the countryside or go and try out one of the region’s golf courses. In fact, the most difficult thing may well be making your choice among the many and varied possibilities!

About Arnaud and Fabienne Bourgeois
For 25 years, Arnaud and Fabienne Bourgeois lived and worked all over the world. On their return to France, they chose to settle in the Dordogne. They fell under the charm of Domaine de La Valette and decided to live their dream here, in an exceptional place in which to bring up their family, welcome guests from all over the world and show them the French way of life and raise traditional livestock. “We have travelled and lived in many countries,” explains Fabienne. “When we came back to France, we wanted to settle in the countryside, in a place not only for our family, but also open to others. Our children go to the village school, we are very much involved in the local community and we also take great pleasure in welcoming guests from France and other countries in this peaceful, comfortable setting. All we want is for our guests to feel at home here, make the most of the beautiful surround-ings and appreciate the authentic character of this peaceful place.” Arnaud and Fabienne willingly invested in their dream with a view to creating a lifestyle geared to rest and relaxation far from the stresses of the world. The guest houses reflect the hosts: they are elegant and designed around the comfort and well-being of their guests, with noble materials, top-quality fittings, plenty of antique wood, a cosy atmosphere and tasteful decoration… In this friendly setting, everything is done to ensure your stay is a perfect one.
