Great property with lots of space and an amazing pool!

We had a birthday weekend at this property and really enjoyed the space it had to offer as well as the beautiful resort style back yard. Alex is the Manager and he is always available for anything you may need. We were close to downtown for the restaurants and nightlife. Also very close to Walmart for groceries and any other items needed. The house was a great value and we would definitely stay here again!

Large house, needs routine maintenance

We were 2 families, 4 adults and 6 kids. I chose this house because it had enough bedrooms and was kid friendly and a good price. The house is large with plenty of comfortable beds and in a great location. The backyard, driveway and game room were great for the kids. We did not heat the pool in April and it was cold. ( I had read the reviews of pool heat issues and elected to forgo it )

From the pictures you can tell the house and furniture is dated and in need of an update. From the pictures you cannot tell that the place needs at least $20,000 worth of routine maintenance that has just not ben done. The walls were really marked up and the carpet needs to be replaced. Chips in tile, walls and stucco were all around. In the master bath the jetted tub did not work, one of the sinks did not work and every time I took a shower it seemed the faucet handle was about to fall off the wall.

As other reviewers have said the kitchen needs to be more completely outfitted, but we did have plenty of towels, hand soap and toilet paper. The gas stove does not automatically light, you have to use a lighter. The TVs were big and in almost every room. It was not cable, but had Netflix and apps. Wifi worked fine.

The washer and dryer are coin operated, but the dryer did not work while we were there. I have never seen coin operated laundry machines in a house before. We did get $195 of our deposit back after several weeks and several phone calls. I am not sure why they kept $5.

All in all the house was a little worse for wear than I thought it would be, but we made the best of it and in some respects it kept us from worrying about the kids so much. Palm Springs is a wonderful home base for visiting the area and the weather was perfect. Adult beverages by the pool every night while the kids played was a great way to end a day of hiking and sight seeing.

family holiday vacation

This was the perfect getaway for multiple families. My sister comes down from Seattle every year to Orange County to visit my mom and my family (with 2 kids). We were looking for a place to call home for a week to relax and provide entertainment for our 5 children (ranging from 6-10). We could not have chosen a better place!!! The game room was amazing, especially for the boys with a pool table, ping pong table, and air hockey table. The best part is that the noise stays in the game room!

Not only do you have access to an amazing backyard with a pool and spa but you have control of the temperature! This was great for us since we happened to rent the house during a cold snap. The kids had a fabulous time playing in the pool despite it being the coldest it ever is in the desert.

Despite the reviews being negative for refunding the security deposit I was pleasantly surprised to get an unsolicited notification regarding my refund within a week of renting! I did not even have to ask or remind them about my deposit. Alex, as well as the rest of the maintenance crew, were amazing about making our experience fabulous. (Which is crazy considering we rented the house over Christmas and the holiday season.)

The only thing I wish I knew prior to arrival, is that the house has the bare essentials. If you plan on cooking make sure you bring what you need. (i.e. extra blankets, pool towels, measuring cups, hot pads, tin foil, salt & pepper, seasonings, etc) With that said you are getting a great vacation home! Thanks Alex for making our Christmas vacation 2016 THE BEST! We will definitely be back soon!

Disappointed

The house was awesome. Definitely older, and had some wear and tear on it, but it fit a lot of people and the backyard was awesome.

Other than that, the experience wasn't too great. I never take the time to write reviews, but felt I needed to because I'm upset about our situation.

#1 We checked in on a Friday, day before our wedding. When we returned from our rehersal dinner, a guy was there working in the backyard, not sure if it was owner, but he was very rude to my brother- in-law and husband, and we had no notice someone would be coming.

#2 Had a leak in downstairs bathroom so we were unable to use that toilet all weekend. I did not care to complain at the time because I had other things to worry about with the wedding.

#3 It took 12 days to get deposit back, when it said a week.

#4 The owner held $40 from my deposit because some ceiling fans were left on. There were no instructions on checking out. We cleaned everything and forgot to turn ceiling fans off. I even looked over contact, and nothing of the sort was mentioned. I contacted owner because I felt it was extremely unfair to hold my money like that, especially after we dealt with a broken bathroom all weekend, and he failed to call me back and still only gave me $160 back. I know his electric bill did not go up $40 in one day from ceiling fans being left on. It's stealing. The contract specifically said the deposit will be held if there was any damage done to house, more than normal wear and tear, and we definitely did not leave any damages, so please tell me why he held my money and how this is fair?!

My family talked about how awesome it would be to stay there during summer time, but due to the owner being extremely unfair, we will never stay again.

If anything, we should have recieved a reimbursement of some sort for the messed up bathroom, but instead, I had money taken away from me. Funny how that works.

Sweet place.

I really enjoyed staying at this location, the view of the mountains was just perfect away from all the noise some of the other places (hotels) have. Not your fancy, over the top, type of interior design (furniture) but it was more of a home feeling to it and that was exactly what we were looking for. My favorite part was the gazebo with the pool, we made some pina coladas out there and bbq. Overall, a great stay!
