Overview

About the property

Secluded 2 bedroom cabin with stunning mountain and loch views. Private beach.

It is hard to imagine a better location for The Log Cabin, sitting in spacious grounds above Loch Tay, but with its own access to the private beach on the shore and glorious views across the loch to Ben Lawers. This is a place to relax and leave life's stress behind whilst you enjoy the deer, red squirrels, otters and ospreys that are seen around the grounds. You can enjoy a wander down to the loch and fish for trout off the shore.

This is a traditional self-catering log cabin - compact, but very well equipped. It is comfortable whilst homing a welcoming wood-burning stove, attractive bedrooms and lovely gardens with BBQ area. It is a stunning spot in one of Perthshire's most scenic locations, yet only 15 minutes from the nearest shops. If you are looking for a relaxing and private holiday then this is for you.

Heavenly!!!

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful views of Loch Tay. Peaceful, quiet ,and lots of birds and deer to watch. The red squirrels were always about and kept us amused. Secure garden for dog a bonus. Fishing was a challenge but managed to catch a few! Not suitable for anyone who is infirm as a stile and stoney terrain to be negotiated down to beach. Thoroughly recommend and will be back. J.S.

This has now gone to the top of our list of favourite Scottish properties we've stayed in.

  • 5 of 5

We've been visiting Scotland for some 25 years and Log Cabin has risen to the top of the list of our family favourites.

It was the best equipped kitchen, comfortable living space with picture windows looking down to Loch Tay and beyond. I only realised there were neighbours at the end of the week as it was so quiet. The views across the loch to Ben Lawers changed every day as the light revealed new aspects and the loch itself is lovely. We barbecued on the beach one evening and stayed down there until late in the evening as it was so secluded and picturesque. We don't go looking for wildlife, but the bird-feeder outside the main window provided much entertainment each day although most of the nuts were taken by the red squirrels.

Our dog loved the cabin as well and the enclosed garden gave us peace of mind that she was safe.

It's a bit of a drive in and out from the cabin, but Killin is a good village with plenty of amenities and the journey to Aberfeldy was always well worth it as this is a truly wonderful small town with so much to offer.

Each year we choose a different cottage/caravan/cabin - but for the first time ever we may well look to return to Log Cabin.

Delightful

  • 4 of 5

The Log Cabin was everything that we could have wished for. Peace and quiet, warm and cosy, wonderful views and everything you could possibly want for a short break.

The loch was just a short walk away and although we didn't catch any fish it was amazing to watch the osprey having little more success!

Happy hours were spent with food and a drink just watching the antics of the red squirrels at the bird feeders.

All this and no phone signal or broadband - simply bliss.

Great Little Cabin

  • 4 of 5

What a great place to stay if you like the peace and quiet to unwind. The views are fantastic, our one and only gripe was that my wife could not reach the shore line due to there being a stye to climb, as she walks with a stick. May I suggest that it is replaced with a gate, so the less able can get a chance to enjoy the view from the Loch side and off course elderly dogs as well, otherwise we would come back again .

This cabin is beautiful. We had a great time there. The loch near the cabin is a wonderfull place filled with magic. Our children enjoyed every moment around there and we all took a (short) bath in loch tay. It was also a good starting point for all our seigthseeing adventures... just beauteous!
