About Scott MacDonald
Hello my name is Scott MacDonald and I have been renting holiday homes for the best part of 25 years. My first property was a house close to the shores of Loch Lomond in Scotland which I rented successfully for almost ten years until I moved overseas and decided to sell up. I then purchased an old farmhouse in the south of Spain which I let for almost 15 years. During that time I also purchased a property in Bali, Indonesia which I sold some years later once I had decided to relocate. More recently I moved home to Scotland in 2013 and purchased a piece of land near Inverness where I built a home for my family. I later decided to build the cabin which I completed towards the end of 2015.

Why Scott MacDonald chose Inverness
I visited this area for the first time in 2012 and was immediately impressed by the combination of beautiful highland scenery and the relative closeness of Inverness. At 250m above sea level and surrounded by woods and hills Strathnairn has the feel of a much more isolated location but is in fact within very easy reach of the city. This is not a common combination in the highlands of Scotland with most of the popular destinations being far off the beaten track. For my family this was important since we needed to be close to a major hospital but it struck me that this city/rural combination would also be advantageous to many others.

A perfect space to spend time whilst checking out everything Loch Ness has to offer.
Clean, warm and everything you need for a self-catering break.
Spotlessly clean, comfortable and well equipped. We would return and would recommend to others.
Thanks Peter, lovely to meet you both.
FANTASTIC GETAWAY CABIN
Wow what a high spec cabin, just as seen in the pictures, fantastic and clever use of space, modern, clean, great location for striking out in all directions in the Highlands.
Chilled, very clean and well finished.
We had a fantastic relaxed week-end at the larch cabin. Well situated location with lots of fantastic places to visit nearby. The cabin is very well finished and cozy with all the facilities you'd ever need - congratulations to Scott for all the work he's done, it's a top job and it was really nice to meet him too as he couldn't have been more helpful. I would highly recommend this property for a getaway, extremely chilled place. Many thanks Graham
Thank you Graham for your kind words, glad you enjoyed your stay.
Lovely cabin, perfect for couples.
The cabin is nestled amount a small group of houses yet still remains pretty private. It’s clean and has the appearance of being brand new. The owners are helpful and friendly without being intrusive. In the surrounding area there are a couple of beautiful short walks. My only regret was that we were only there for a couple of nights.
Thank you for your review Alan, sorry for delay coming back to you.
Very impressive, Cosy and relaxing
This is a lovely cosy cabin finished to a very high standard, It really was a home from home everything we needed was there and only 25min drive from Tesco or asda, We really enjoyed our stay and really made to feel welcome from the owners who was only a stone throw away, We spent two nights at the cabin but we could have spent much more time there, At nearly half the price of a hotel I would strongly recommend this to anyone wanting to escape, All the small things really made a huge difference to our experience and we look forward to spending a few more nights there later this year 10/10 for us
Thank you David for taking the time to write this review. With 10/10 the bar has been set high indeed! Looking forward to meeting you again should you return.
