The Perfect Mountain Getaway
The condo has a great mountain feel with rock fireplace, earthy painted walls and cabin decorations. The huge pine trees outside the window smell so great if you sit on the balcony. Yes, there is construction going on nextdoor but they stop early and do not work on the weekends.
The king size bed is really comfortable and the kitchen is fully equipped. There is also a full gym and game room downstairs and the spa and swimming pool are at the perfect temperature.
The location is also perfect. The Village restaurants, shops, shuttle bus, ski/snowboard rentals, lift tickets and gondola to Canyon are all within a short walk away.
We will be back.
Great location but condo had some issues
Getting into condo was easy. Nice to have underground parking. Cozy condo and great location. Can't beat being at the Village. Nice balcony. They are doing construction right across from the condo.
It never really bothered us though. Well stocked with kitchen essentials. The pull out bed is broken and honestly should be replaced. The owners were very quick to respond and sent a maintenance person over to try and fix it. Not much he could do and so we had to make do for the week. Luckily, our kids are small and didn't complain. However, if I were the one to have to sleep on that bed for a week, I'd be super unhappy. You are probably better off bringing an air mattress if you need the extra bed. The bedroom was missing the smoke detector which seems to be a safety issue. Unfortunately, the one thing that caused us to rate this lower was the smell of the condo. We needed to open the balcony door for fresh air whenever we were in the condo. It was a really strong and unpleasant odor.
Overall, it was a decent place but some of the items above, unless addressed, would prevent us from renting this one again.
comfortable and convenient
Staying in the village is the way to go. The gondola to Canyon Lodge for skiing is steps away. No driving needed. Great place if you are flying. Hot tub available 10a to 10p. While we drove (this time) there is a great little cart in the closet to help move items from the car to the unit. Our timing couldn't have been better to take advantage of the best powder. Many places to eat - all in walking distance. On Saturday afternoon, there were outside activities in the village square.
Another amazing mammoth trip
We had a great time staying in this condo. It was very comfortable for my husband and I. Also super easy to check in and get the stuff we needed to have a great week.
We will be back next year Mammoth
Wonderful getaway for two
This is a beautiful little condo that is a perfect getaway for two. The location absolutely cannot be beaten, as you are steps from shopping, the gondola, restaurants, ski rentals, etc. There are many perks like heated parking and a free ski locker as well. Apparently there is construction behind the condo currently, but I honestly didn’t even notice them working until I just happened to look out the window on our second day! The soaking tub and fireplace are wonderful bonuses. Cozy enough for us to not want to do anything other than order pizza in after a long day of skiing. Very quiet and convenient, we can not recommend enough!
My husband, my 7-year old and I stayed at this unit from 12/30-1/3 Our original reservation was thru 1/4 and we pre-paid for 5 nights at a peak rate. First, we experienced a few minor inconveniences: 1) wrong check-in instructions that took us to a Laundromat looking for a key to the unit, 2) broken furniture, 3) bad odor in the bathroom with shower curtain covered in mildew (which the owner did come by and replace). Again, we could have overlooked these inconveniences but we were rudely awakened early morning on 1/2 by loud noise coming from construction of a new building directly outside the unit. It didn't help that my son had a cold and needed to sleep. We were awakened again the following morning and decided that we couldn't stay at the unit. We asked the owner for a refund for the last night as we were vacating and he refused. Had he disclosed the construction upfront, we would NEVER have selected this unit. He only noted the construction in the description after we told him that we were filing a formal complaint with VBRO. The Trust and Security unit of VBRO will be conducting an investigation as well as our credit card company to file repayment.
