Let me start with the good. Very lovely view, day and night. Large space lets everyone spread out a bit. Close to grocery, Jewel, trader joes, subway, jimmy johns and Starbucks. Door person and cab call is easy. Cons.. One tv with a few channels, we brought books and Legos. Looks like thrift store furnishing, lol. If it were my condo I would invest 1500 and get an area rug for acoustics in living room, upgrade towels and bedding, get more kitchen items, i.e. 6 glasses for a 3 bedroom rental is pretty skimpy. We read the reviews prior to renting but the price was within our range and we walked to museums and aquarium. Parking in Chicago is steep...27 per day and no in and out. Choose cabs at slow times of days otherwise you pay to sit in traffic. Taxi was easier and cheaper than uber for us. We lost Internet a lot but had hot spots on our phones so we had internet. Our bathrooms and kitchen were clean, but agree that a little attention to walls and baseboards would be appropriate. We had a good time with 3 adults and 3 kids under 9, at least with a fairly bare condo we didn't worry about them breaking anything. Owners..renting would be easier with a few fixes and getting better reviews, but just my opinion.
Well, this was the first time we stayed in this particular condo. We have stayed in a much nicer and less expensive condo in this building for the last three years. The location is perfect and that is about all we can say for this unit. Their arrival and departure instructions are incredible strict and not flexible. We arrived at the building 30 min early and we were told by the company that we cannot stay in the lobby and that if we wanted to check in early we can pay $35. Are you kidding me?! $35 for arriving 30 min early. When we got in the condo, it was freezing cold, the furniture did not look as pictured. A lot of the furniture was dated and torn. The kitchen was for the most part empty. They have 3 pots and pans, silverware, a few spatulas, plates and bowls. They left used disgusting sponges and instead of just buying new hand soaps, they filled all of them up with water. The walls and carpet are dirty, the bath tub in The master does not drain and the faucet leaks. For the money that we spent on this condo, we definitely did not get what we expected. It looks like they do not maintain this condo barely at all and when they do prepare for someone to come, it is the absolute bare minimum. Lastly, we were told that the main rule was that we had to be quiet, we were quiet. However, the long term residents are definitely not quiet. Beware of what you sign up for on this one.
Great location on Michigan Ave and Grant Park. Easy walk to Museum Campus. Fabulous view of city.
3rd bedroom was originally an office, so no closets and barely fit bed.
Kitchen barely equipped. Some dining chairs were falling apart. All furniture was old and very used. Unit was dusty and some walls scuffed.
Handle fell off refrigerator when we arrived and even though we notified management, nobody came to repair during our stay.
With 3 bedroom unit you might need more than 1 parking pass - but additional not available. Only 2 wrist bands for pool access so only 2 people at a time could use pool. These may be "condo rules" but we had asked for additional parking passes and pool bands and were told, "they would try or were working on it". Never told no until we checked in. Why not answer up front?
The emailed check-in instructions were difficult to understand, repetitious and incomplete.
Great view and location - the management is not worried about repeat business.
Navy Graduation / Family Vacation
The condo was beautiful, with great view. We spent a There was a total of 8 of us that have traveled to the windy city, and this place said it would accommodate us. We would be there for 1 week. Yes, the condo was big enough for us, however, it lacked some of the necessary stuff for every day living. We ended up paying about $700 more than we were quoted (didn't get an invoice till the day we checked in). If we knew this would be the case we would have kept looking around. The management company greeted us very secretly in the lobby as if what we were doing was wrong. We were handed the keys and off they went, we never received the key fob for the glass door to the elevators incase the door man was away from their desk, even after emailing them and asking for one. Once in the condo we noticed the up keep wasn't top notch. Scuff marks on the walls, dust everywhere. The kitchen lacked some of the necessary utensils, only enough silverware for 4 people. The bathroom didn't have any washcloths and only a few towels, we ended up going and buying some cheap towels and washcloths and leaving them there for the next guest. The cable tv provided only had about 20 channels. One night it was chilly in the condo and we turned on the heater and it just blew cold air, might have been that the building doesn't turn on the heat for the building till a certain date.
On a good note, the location was perfect. Walking distance to beautiful parks, great restaurants, and attractions. What wasn't within walking distance was just a short cab or train ride away. The furniture is fairly new and comfortable, the wifi worked great.
Great Location! Amazing View! Just what we needed!
We were a family of 6 (all adults) and had a great time at this property.
We found it to be clean and well taken care of, and made great use of the cookware and appliances in the condo; all worked wonderfully.
The views are amazing and you have your own private balcony to enjoy.
Beds were comfortable, we had enough towels for everyone and had no problem with using the wifi.
It is an easy walk to nearby Trader Joe's, which helps save money on food, and close to the museums and the park.
We would definitely recommend this property to others!
Great location - upkeep not so much
First off let me say that the girls in the booking office were really sweet. Email responses were pretty quick and they answered the phone.
We started our stay with the lock on the front door broken - it was electronic and the battery was dead... After calling the girls it was fixed in 3 hours.
I also mentioned to the office that their were boogers all over the wall above the master bed and she had the cleaning crew come out and clean that up for us. Yuck
The pictures of the inside of the condo are outdated. The furniture in the living room is different... There are two fabric sleeper couches and a fabric chair. All of them were dirty and quite old. The kitchen was really nice but very limited on supplies. We didn't cook there as Chicago has amazing food.
We were sent several pages of rules and most were responsible but there was a no shoes rule which really wouldn't have bothered us but the laminate flooring and the tile in the bathrooms had sticky places and it was a bit gross.
All of the walls were white and were scuffed and dirty from rude guests maybe but it gave a sad appearance. On the surface the place looked clean but if you really looked all the corners and tile/laminate were quite filthy.
The sheets were clean and I am confident in saying this as they looked like they sat in the dryer for some time and were very wrinkled.... I actually was happy about this because I could tell they hadn't been slept on.
I saw an earlier post with a note from the owner about this not being a hotel and not to expect the 5 star treatment. But... I did expect the place to be sparkling as we were charged 150 dollars for a cleaning fee and that should be more then enough for their cleaning crew to wash the floors, walls, corners and spot treat the furniture. If the cleaning had been done after each guest properly there should not have been such a build up of filth.
The building is a non smoking building but apparently one of the residents on our floor did not get the memo as the hallway smelled like a bar.
The trash chute is right next to this condo on the master bedroom side... Trash at 2 am is very loud... The walls are quite thin to the hallway and you can hear everything that happens out there.
The master bathroom shower handle was missing a screw so you had to use the top of the door to open.
The condo would actually be very nice if the cleaning crew cared about it.
The view was amazing though with the park right there and all the buildings.
