Due to renovations we are not taking bookings after 03/18
Our bach is elevated, north facing, surrounded by bush with extensive harbour views. The best bits are the great views, no neighbours and 2.5 acres of private bush and tracks to the waters edge for you to explore.
The house is located 10 min drive from Opotiki and 15 min from Ohope in a peaceful and secluded area on the picturesque Ohiwa harbour. The harbour is very safe for children and you can kayak the harbour from the edge of the lawn. There's a good all tide boat ramp 2 min away. There are large grass areas adjacent to the house or by the harbours edge that provide ample parking and room for tents
View spectacular sunsets from the deck. Enjoy exploring the nearby Ohiwa and Bryans Beaches (5 min), or to the Ohiwa spit where rare seabirds nest. This is a great area for floundering, fishing, shellfish, swimming, surfing, or just relaxing. Ohiwa Holiday camp ground is 5 min away and has a camp store for basic provisions.
There are duvets and blankets for the two queen beds and for 6 single beds. You will need to bring duvets for the remaining beds. There is a dinghy (with oars), kayak and a selection of fishing gear available for your use. Please make sure you replace fishing tackle, bait etc that is used. Note that the BBQ is one of those wood ones where you need to cut kindling and use paper to light and beware you might even get smoke in your eyes :) Also there is a small TV at the bach but we never watch it, however digital freeview is supplied.
Wifi is included and free of charge with no use restrictions.
Finally there are loads of games, jigsaw puzzles and books for those days where you might want to sit around an enjoy the view.
Generally we ask people to clean the bach however paying for cleaning is an option though this is dependent on availability of the cleaner. Please state in your inquiry if you want to include cleaning.
**Note that we have a two night minimum stay**
