Canoe or walk across the inlet at low tide to a pristine sandy beach and to Goat Island (Mapoutahi pa).
The Orokonui Ecosanctuary is a 10 minute drive away. Port Chalmers and the Dunedin Stadium aren't much further.
Large windows with a beautiful view out over the inlet. The afternoon sun streams in to warm the living area while on cold nights the house is kept cosy with a new wood burner.
Check in after 3 pm. Check out 11 am. There are two entrances; a rather overgrown path and a steep driveway suitable for 4WD vehicles, although other vehicles can use it to park off road. Entrance is NOT via the front door but using the North-facing slider. Guests are asked to be considerate in their use of water, as the rain-based supply is limited.
