The 1950s school house is set in a couple of acres of treed lawns and paddocks in the Hinakura valley. The Pahaoa River runs along the property and there are some good swimming holes to be recommended. It's a 20 minute drive to the coast at Pahaoa where you can walk or fish at the river mouth. A bike ride to the coast following the river is a great way to spend and hour or two.
Martinborough vineyards, golf course and cafes are only 20 to 30 minutes away if you are wanting a break from the countryside.
If you don't want to venture too far afield, there are racquets for use on the old and slightly uneven tennis court or you may prefer just to relax under a tree with a good book.
In summer you can light up the barbecue and enjoy the star-lit sky or if it turns chilly then you can light the fire indoors.
Smoking allowed outside only. Groups restricted to six people
NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave; Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);
